Seeing Results Before They Happen is HARD!

When I first read about this thing called "visualization," I, like most people, was skeptical.

Not just skeptical, I guess the more appropriate way of saying it was I thought it was total B.S.

How does daydreaming help you?

But then I realized I was programmed, like everyone else, to think I knew what the hell was going on out there and that my model of the world was the only one that existed; how primitive of me.

Then I started reading about how when you create results in your mind first, it actually builds new Neuro Cortical Pathways in your brain. It's basically like installing something into your brain, when it isn't there in real life, for the purposes of putting internal drive on overdrive and having something definitive to work toward.

Because "seeing your results" changes you at the neurological level, it's trains the belief into your head that not only are the results possible, but if make it a ritual to focus on outcomes and FEEL what it feels like, it coaxes your brain to believe it's totally going to happen.

Why is this useful?

Not because some mysterious Law of Attraction is going to manifest your dreams. Read up on the real quantum physics behind that and understand that ACTION is what separates the elite from the mediocre,

BUT BECAUSE with a conviction that something is going to take place, you'll tap more of your resources, you'll engage more physical resources and that will most likely result in taking more action to get stuff done.

Ultimately, the brain has a reference system. It will reference garbage if you don't put something smart in there. Intentionally creating clear images of outcomes is not only putting something smart in there, but it's literally building new neural pathways containing data that MOVES YOU TO ACTION!

Nothing "mystical" about it, it's purely cellular. SEE YOUR OUTCOMES! Even though it's hard to before you reach them!

But now I can look back and think about what I did and verify that everything I did is right in line with thought-creation techniques.
You knew the deal before you could validate it! Cool reply LD, "thought creation techniques," I'm all about it!

When I use to body build I use to close my eyes and see myself doing every exercise perfectly. I'd see the muscles how the were suppose to look and even visualize the final results.

It worked in such an amazing way. Before I started doing that I was struggling to make gains; after I started visualizing I made gains like crazy!

I proved it to myself that it works and now no one can take that away from me. You have to prove it to yourself to know it works.

This is awesome! Such a perfect example of what we're talking about. It really is the "difference that makes the difference."

Visualizing is very very helpful. The mind is a powerful mechanism and if you know how to use or "trick" your mind, you can achieve more...be it bodybuilding or building a business.

Visualization is tremendously helpful in motivating your and preparing your mind for the journey.

It's a similar process and outcome as meditating, yoga, etc

Heck yea Kenster! Thanks for commenting. You're totally right with meditation and yoga. I've yet to explore Yoga (totally will!) but I'm an avid meditator.

      Thanks again for replying.

The KEY in the visualization is for you to be comfortable with the images going in your mind.

So next time you are trying to visualize pay attention to your feelings instead of what you are seeing.

If you are feeling discomfort, this is a very good sign that you are most likely going to sabotage this result in the "real life".

So, next time when you are visualizing what you want, and you feel that uncomfortable feeling. Just let it go and this will fast track you to obtaining what it is that you want

Great posts so far on this thread. But I think there's something that also needs to be clarified:

Seeing results before they happen WITHOUT backing them up with focused action is simply mental mast*rbation.

The LOA, as it is formulated by most commercial programs, kind of implies that you just have to sit there and dream of it. For smaller goals and easily achievable stuff you might get some degree of success; but when it comes to internet entrepreneurship, for example, you can sit all day and wait for lots of money to fall from the sky. Unless you do something about it, it's worthless.

      So,
You are not exempted from taking action.

Maxwell Maltz covers this in-depth in his superb book Psycho-Cybernetics. Also, well-established self-development authors like Hill, Nightingale etc. never implied that you don't have to work for success. However, what they do say is that you don't have to work hard and kill yourself in order to achieve that success. A balance between visualization and action taking is what actually makes sense if you think of it.

Another secret I've learned from experience is that the more I visualized my goals, the more it motivated me to pursue them. Visualizing connects your neurology to your "big WHY", gives your subconscious mechanism a target to aim at. Call it intrinsic motivation. It's probably more than that. It's a kind of energy that draws you closer to your dreams.

I've once read that the key to really getting results is to envision your wished coming true constantly... and that is simply impossible to do.

  • Visualisation brings you in synch with what you are attracting.

Tough in begining, but its all about practice.

What I want already exists so the only thing that needs to change is me Having that possibility in my head and entertaining it with such passion that I totally get fired up and CAN'T DENY the action - I just have to.

The way the mediocre world approaches it is: "Give me what I want and I'll be happy"...yeah 4 sure you'll just be more of an annoying pest (talking to myself here aswell)

I just studied & learned that the way miracles happen is when you hold the dream but give up trying to figure out what they are going to be made of: People, places, things, times & events. They're based upon personality memory & we can't experience things beyond our thinking (which is mostly thinking in terms of past experiences)

Thanks for reminding me of this. My first experiences with visualization were athletic. As a high school runner, I could tell that my performance was better when I had run the race in my head the night before. I still am more likely to use visualization for physical actions. "THIS serve is going to go in," and there in my mind's eye, I see it happen.

I also have done it before giving a presentation. But I probably have been forgetting to do this in business. But not anymore.. there I just visualized myself visualizing success. Really. You have to start somewhere.

  • Our Mind cna easily be fooled/ manipulated, We must understand our mind is not a diffrentiator Organ, it can not diff between reality and imagination.

In both cases it still produces the same chamicals and electrical sparks.

Goethe said, "Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace, and power in it."

What you truly believe in your mind is what you will eventually see as a result. Visualization isn't a once or twice action - practice visualization every day and you will see your dreams and desires come to fulfillment!
