The More Important Of The Two: Knowledge Or Imagination?

One would think that with all the banks and banks of knowledge we have attained over the centuries that said knowledge would be king.

But we would be wrong if we heeded the guidance of Albert Einstein. He once commented on the two aspects of the mind in such a way:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”

Do you agree with Einstein?

    Agreed in a sense with
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”

Knowledge in most cases is proven and authority while imaginations are only imaginations However I believe imagination will lead one to knowledge at the end of the day as these imagination leaded Einstein to invent so many things. It was his imagination which leads to a proven knowledge.

now the component that is missing ..is with many quote of einstien there is a larger explanation that illuminates the quote .

it is believed that he was high functioning autistic ..we live in a different world that normal people .

just knowiing the facts is not enough ..we use our imagination to compress knowledge into a story to get a better functional understanding of it .

and a lot of knowledge is seemingly false because it doesn't make sense in a story

When coming up with "business" ideas, I think Knowledge + Imagination are important.

Knowledge and Imagination are both important to us. However, in terms of power, imagination knows no boundaries. Imagination can enable us design our own lives.

Knowledge and imagination can be related to the conscious and subconscious mind. The power of the subconscious mind has no limit. But it is our conscious mind which controls the powerful subconscious mind.

In terms of power the subconscious mind is superior, so is imagination in relation to knowledge.

It's all got to do with getting both brains to work together.

The conscious mind (ego) only runs at a mere 7-9bits per second, whilst the subconscious zips by at over 50 million signals per second...

Knowledge is stored in the subconscious and is recalled and filtered thru the belief systems we have acquired, so with all the most amazing knowledge in the world, it just takes one limiting belief to slit the ankles of your dream...

Since the left brain only deals with 5% of the processing power, imagination (which is the same thing as intuition) dominates the rest of the 95%... and interestingly enought, the right brain is directly connected electromagnetically to the heart. (see the HeartMath Institute www.heartmath.org )

Back to your point, you can have all the knowledge in the world, but if your self image and blueprint for reality is based on fear of any kind, all the 95% potential that is available becomes nullified and inactive.
The most powerful force to create change is emotion, which is essentially a cluster of thoughts aligned with a picture, which creates a sense of drive... And you can only create NEW pictures to replace the old limiting ones using the power of your imagination.

So the real trick is to learn to master your states, where you can easily just turn on the tap for your imagination to generate all the solutions you could ever wish for, besides, its designed for that purpose

      Hope this helps

Nikola Tesla planned out every invention in his imagination before he physically made it. His imagination was so powerful he could see images coming from people's words, sometimes he couldn't tell the difference if it was something he imagined or something physical.

This tells me imagination is a lot more powerful as it is interdimensional.

Depends on the individual. To some knowledge is power, to others it's just potential power. And then, for some imagination and the ability to endlessly create something out of nothing using the imagination as the channel is the only power they need. Those are the ones I admire most.

I used to think that Knowledge is Power

but Now What I believe that :" Knowledge is Potential power "

because you can have all the knowledge in the world ,but without finding a away to act on and put any piece of knowledge in action to get result ,all this knowledge is absolutely useless

Imagination and visualization is also another great asset because this is what makes your self having what you wanna have and feel as is has been already happened

I always saw imagination as flowing from knowledge. The kind of close-minded, parochial stereotype thinks he possesses superior knowledge, but really he is willfully ignorant to anything alien to his nature. As such, he will never know anything outside his faux structure. To the contrary true depth of knowledge enables imagination, as it shows the flaws and holes in any system. That's always how I've seen it anyway

      I love this question.

I believe that imagination is more important than knowledge.

Our world has been built on imagination, everything that we have created started in the mind, someone's imagination sparked an idea and then the process of bringing that idea to life began.

The knowledge to bring the idea into reality for me had to come second through trial and error.

There are no limits to what the imagination can dream up, it is endless.

Both are equally important, but Imagination is rare. Anyone can acquire knowledge through learning n experience.. but imagination is a natural capability and takes fair amount of Guts to be imaginative. It is people with imaginations that take the world forward, imaginations helps reach new heights, break old notions n records.. but you don't need it to be just successful at something.

I think you need both knowledge and imagination together. For example, you need the knowledge of the product you are selling but without imagination you wouldn't be able to sell said product very easily.

Imagination by far. You do need knowledge to apply your imagination but the knowledge itself is the building block of that which you're actually creating.

Think of knowledge as being the building blocks...the bricks of your creation.

With a little knowledge you can let those bricks sit in your backyard gathering moss and not do anything with them. But if you accrue enough of them and apply your imagination you can build something. To some that may just be a garden shed...but to others with enough bricks and enough imagination they can build a cathedral.

Let me put it this way, without the knowledge that there is something as "the world," what purpose will imagination be?

Do you know what distinguishes a loser from the winner? A man picks up a $100.00 from the street. A loser stuffs it in his pocket and continue his way. A winner thinks of ways he can put that money into good use.

    LastingLifeSuccess,

I have to agree with Einstein....

    In a business setting.....

I see "knowledge" is an "intellectual understanding" of something....

In contrast, I perceive imagination is "thinking outside the box" to solve potential problems....

    My two cents.....

I feel imagination is more important, as knowledge can always be gained by learning.
If you don't have imagination life will be very boring.

I to feel imagination is more important than knowledge. Having all the knowledge in the world will get you no where without an imagination to push you forward.

I think Knowledge is totally different from imagination.

Knowledge can give you the power to live, fight and survive.

Imagination is something related with emotional mental power of human beings.
