U.S. Pedophiles Nabbed in Cambodia Sex-Tourist Sting - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com

EXCLUSIVE: LOS ANGELES -- Three Americans "tourists" are on their way home from Cambodia Monday after being arrested in an ongoing federal sex

Now granted, these guys are pervs, but they arent on u.s. soil. There are TONS of people that go to other countries and pick up hookers, but nobody is hunting them down, probably because we dont have jurisdiction. So how does the government have jurisdiction to do something like this? If the country they are in doesnt have a problem with whatever perverted crap they are doing, why should the gov't go out of its way to bring them back here?

So, you're saying as long as Cambodia doesn't have a problem with the fact that...
Peeters bought a 13-year-old Cambodian boy from his parents for $2 and a bag of rice, and raped him five times
    ...then why should the US?

Are you kidding me? Are you $%&^&# serious?

I'll tell just a few reasons why they should face charges here in the US.

    1. They are already CONVICTED sex offenders. I can guarantee they had conditions for their release - most likely handed down at sentencing.

    2. There are many international precedents. Such as going after drug dealers no matter where they are.

    3. The fact that ANYONE would say they shouldn't face charges for any reasons is just wrong.

    4. Obviously Cambodia cares to some extent, otherwise thier actions would have remained unknown.

These countries DO have laws, but they are often unenforced. However, the laws are still there.

You're more concerned that they were extradited (happens all the time) then you are concerned with the heinous crimes these males perpetrated? Sounds like a strong look at priorities is in order.

    Wow.

I agree 100%. - This is the sickest crime possible. and Americans supply a lot of demand for it. We need to cut off the demand (which could involve cutting something else off as well).

Yeah, I agree with you 100%, but then you start getting into politics again, when you talk about cutting, etc.... 8-(

But they arent convicted in cambodia

      2. There are many international precedents. Such as going after drug dealers no matter where they are.
Yes, but your talking about going after drug offenders that have be arrested and are being deported because of their crime. And if the country is a no deport country, the u.s. cant make them deport criminals even if they are u.s. citizens
      3. The fact that ANYONE would say they shouldn't face charges for any reasons is just wrong.
The rules in cambodia and the rules here arent' the same
      4. Obviously Cambodia cares to some extent, otherwise thier actions would have remained unknown.
and that is something Cambodia should take care of, not the U.S.
These countries DO have laws, but they are often unenforced. However, the laws are still there.
That is the problem of that country, not the U.S.

No im more concerned with even more of MY tax money being laid out for criminals that in my opinion should be put down like a rabid dog in the first place, to bring them back here, house, feed and clothe them when they commited a crime in another friggen country. Let cambodia deal with it if it is a crime commited in their country, let their taxpayers pay for the pervs that probably shouldnt be drawing air to begin with

so keep your righteous indignation to yourself..thanks.

Frankly, in such a case, I think they should go there to burn their passports and just say GOOD RIDDANCE! But they DO have jurisdiction if the country allows it. ALSO, if the people committed the crimes HERE, they may force extradition!

Frankly, I DOUBT they did this without a treaty and/or cambodian approval.

And MIKE motley, aren't YOU the one that thinks the U.S. government is so perfect?

nope, i have never said the government was perfect. But i'm also not hiding in my house with the windows spray painted over in fear that the government spends every waking moment trying to figure out how to take over my piddly little life.

There is one good reason why they should have stayed in Cambodia. The prisons are better suited to the crimes they committed.

p.s. You will also notice I used the word males instead of men. That's because they are not men. They have male plumbing, but it takes a lot more than that to earn the label of being a man.

YEAH, I DID notice that. I thought OH GREAT(sarc) MORE male bashing! NOW that you explained it, YEP! I AGREE!

I'm even kind of glad they raped a BOY, as opposed to a girl or woman! That makes them all the weirder, etc...

BTW I usually say female instead of girl or woman, but I didn't want that to be viewed in the light you put the masculine counterpart in.

    Michael,

One more thing, BUYING a 13 year old boy for $2 and a bag of rice so you can rape him repeatedly and PAYING an ADULT hooker are two entirely different things.

Surely, you can see that. Yes?

Two entirely different things to you...in this country, with this soceities morals. Not every society has the same moral base.

For instance, who do you think was paid the $2 and a bag of rice for this child to be a rape puppet? His parents

Hey, Michael, no need to make accusations against Steven.

    That's just rude.

Anyway, if you read the entire article, you would see that this was a joint effort between the US and Cambodia. You would have also seen that these three guys are about the worst of the worst, and still your priorities seem misplaced.

All I care about is that they got these animals. That's all. I could care less if we had to go after them on the moon - they deserve to be brought to justice.

Read the whole article, then see if you still feel the same way.

If they were already noted child molestors....they were already brought to justice, and we let them go again.

So again, how is bringing them back to the U.S. to be fed, clothed and housed on the u.s. taxpayers dime, which they already did once apparently, and then let them out again later in life to do this all over again.

I believe the cambodian punishment for child molesting is death. I dont know about you, but i like the cambodian punishment better. Fixes the problem, saves taxpayer money..its a win win

For what it is worth, I DID say I would rather just have their passports burned, and say GOOD RIDDANCE!

        Again, read the entire article.

It clearly states that the punishment here is WORSE than Cambodia, which, until recently, didn't have ANY laws against these crimes.

IF the Cambodian punishment were more severe, then I would agree with you. However, I actually read the entire article and saw that was not the case. So, bring 'em on back to the US.

Obviously our punishment isnt so tough, or we wouldnt be shipping them back to the states in the first place. Let them rot in a cambodian jail fo ra while.

Debauchery is a Cambodian legal term for sex offenses involving children under 17. It's punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Something tells me that 20 years in a cambodian jail is a little bit tougher than segregation from gen pop in our AC controlled jails with 3 hots and a cot, free education and a workout room. I highly doubt that many jails in cambodia are as swank as ours and these guys will probably spend all of about 5 years, then be back on the streets again.
