Comedy fictional novels

Hi,

When buying fictional novels it's usually some pretty action packed ones (Wilbur Smith, Andy McNab, Iguilden, etc.) I find, but I would like to find some humour books, books that will make me clap my thighs with laughter, like Friends, Simpsons, Seinfeld, etc. do it on TV.

I'm not talking about comedy strips, but real fictional novels.

Can you recommend any?

I tried amazon (quickly though) but only found childrens and fantasy novels.

Thanks.

Regards,
Thomas

Try any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. I'm currently reading "Guards, Guards" and on numerous occassions it's made me laugh out loud.

I'm with whateverpedia - Pratchett will have you side splitting laughter. So will his book (collaborated with Neil Gaiman) called Good Omens.

I also recommend for a friendly read anything by Robert Fulghum. Love love love that man.

Robert Lynn Asprin, the M.Y.T.H. series. Get the ones illustrated by Phil Foglio, if you can.

    Piers Anthony's Xanth novels.

Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom of Landover novels.

    All worth a read.

"Odd Thomas" and "Brother Odd" by Dean Koontz

"A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson

These are out of the norm, non-genre books that cracked me up many times.
