Yep, right there with ya Thom. Born and raised country. Lived by huntin', fishin', and the garden. Still do.

Like the Hank Jr. video. I have the same one posted on myspace.

      Hanks the man
Saw him years ago when he did the "If you don't like my daddy you can kiss my ass" tour. Loudest concert I've ever been to.
There's a lot of wisdom and insight in that song that city folk just don't get.

Used to run trout lines around here for bullheads and catfish mostly.
Still live in the same house my father bought in 1930 and still have deer feeding in the yard even though I have neighbors now (I call them squatters). The last couple of days the turkeys have been cluckin like crazy.
I stopped hunting for a few years, but it's like when I stopped riding.
If it's in your blood there's nothing you can do about it and I'm planning on getting back to it this year.

Now your making me hungry. With a little luck, I will have some fresh backstrap in a week or two. Bow season starts the 27th this month and I'll be out there hunting the great beast. The ultimate "fast food".

I might be getting my first bow this year.
I shoot left handed and though I can handle a right handed rifle a right handed bow is a different story.
I'll be getting my 50 cal. Thompson ready soon though.

I use a Thompson 50 cal. too. It's the Black Diamond model with camo stock. Started bow hunting when I was 16. Used a 50# Browning recurve.
After I got out of school I bought a Jennings Model T compound to bear hunt in W.VA.. Used it till I wore it out then retired it and bought a Parker compound. If I was to recommend a bow, it would be a Parker or a Mathews.

Hey, don't forget about us Country girls :p Here's one of my favorites songs lol
YouTube - Gretchen Wilson - Redneck Woman

Used to do a lot of catfishing (one of my favorite memories) but lost all my fishin' holes when I moved to a bigger city. Forgot my stringer once when I was trout fishing..came back and was asked "So, no luck, huh?" Surprised everyone when I untucked my shirt and fish dropped out. The only shootin' I do though at animals is with my camera  Do shoot cans though lol

I have carried a lot of fish in my time but never in my shirt. You gotta be country. Sure wouldn't want to do that with a bullhead.

LOL I know better than to put catfish down my shirt...ended up stepping barefoot into a school of babies once and those lil buggers have some sharp fins. Hooked into a 3+ foot long catfish once...again standing barefoot in the water...had no idea what it was at the time..all I saw was this huge wake coming toward me in the water..talk about panic You would think that this would teach me something 'bout fishing barefoot, but I still do it Then again, I go barefoot anytime I can...damn! guess I must be country:p (even though I'm sure my boots and cboy hat are a sure give away too )

                          That's why we have cities.
