Hello my warrior friends,

It's not a hot topic, neither a happy one. But still. Are you living alone? Away from your home and friends?

Yes, I am. Living alone. Other than my job - have got no partner or friends here. Either they are virtual or they are away!

I have had some of the best times of my life while living alone. It's all a matter of attitude.
(But to answer your question, I don't live alone now.)

It has its ups and downs.
I've always enjoyed doing what I want when I want.
My last wife got that and always gave me that freedom when possible.
Now that my youngest is out of the house I've been living alone for almost a year. Many of my summer days are now spent getting on my bike and going for a long ride. I've even bought a few maps so I can figure out where I end up

Seems like fairly important info---especially if you have a desire to get back home at some point!

Hmmm - If I were living alone would I be likely to announce that on the Internet? I don't think so. LOL.

Actually, no, I don't live alone right now - I do sometimes, sometimes I don't. It's neat having someone else around sometimes and sometimes it's nice to just be able to have the home as a sanctuary.

I will live alone again, I'm quite sure, and I will enjoy it - but right now I live with my sister and we're having a great time together, so for now this is kewl. As long as I can get out when I want and go exploring and gem hunting with a little fur ball tagging along, it doesn't matter to me if I live alone or not.

Don't really need one to get home. If I leave heading west at some point I just turn around and go east

    Alone?

    What is "alone"?

In my almost 46 years, I lived "alone" for a total of 4 of them. And they were SOOOOO peaceful. LOL

Right now, in my house there is me, my wife, son, step-daughter, mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law. My alone time is my basement office after my brother-in-law turns in.

I love my family and enjoy their company MOST of the time, but last week, all but me and my father-in-law went on vacation. Wow, so quiet.

    So what did I do?

    Remodel my bathroom

    Oh well....

I have NEVER lived alone. I moved straight out of home into my current house with my husband. I don't think I'd cope well living alone, I'm too much of a wuss I'd be too scared. I'd at least need to have a big dog or something

lol some of these responses are so funny..

I live alone now - but no not completely alone, I have my little girl with me, and she's a joy for company

I really like the freedom of coming and going when I want and just the ability to be spontaneous, it's so refreshing.

But eventually I hope to have another long term relationship, yet I am in no hurry...

Between my FT job, my passion for IM, and my beautiful daughter... life is very busy right now!

How we see living alone depends on our state of mind, really. Each person has to have his own space but then again no one is an island.

I have been living alone for a couple of years now. Yes, there are times when it feels good but mostly it can be bad especially when I set food to eat alone on the table. Maybe I have to change my mind over men now for I had a bad relationship back then and kind of never really trusted men. Though I have dated someone sometimes.

Yeah, I am. Some of my best friends are in other states now. 8-( But the people near my home, and the people at most of the hotels and assignments seem nice.

I would agree that living alone isn't necessarily a bad thing. It can in fact be good but I would say that one place to start is with a roommate(s). I have found it to be pretty enjoyable to live with other people that I share some commonalities with and it's cheaper. Living with other people, even if they are only friends is an easy way to expand your social circle and meet new people.
