As has been pointed out to me by several members,
this thread was inappropriate and self indulgent.

Please accept my apologies.

Please report it and have it deleted if you like.

I'm happy to see this... unfortunately, I realize that I'm probably one of the people that helped make Allen decide to forbid it, and I feel bad about that.

    Allen, please accept my apology.

Actually Michael, I put in a support ticket to the help desk asking Allen
to consider putting the rule back in.

I know I'm just a nobody around here, which I clearly pointed out in my
plea to the boss, but I figured I had nothing to lose by asking.

I'm not saying the decision was made based on my support ticket, and
for all I know, others may have complained as well, and for all we know
Allen may have been ready to do this anyway, but I figured if I just shut
my mouth and said nothing, then I'd never know.

Now maybe we can fight about things like "what the best marketing methods
are and why article marketing sucks" or whatever.

People should have to pay subs to use this forum.

Even if it's only $5/mo it would get rid of the time wasters, hopefully.

          Just an FYI.

I did receive a reply to my support ticket.

Seems that Allen was going to do this anyway. I just reminded him of it.

We're lucky he didn't take down OT altogether.

Even though a couple of months ago this idea was talked about and numerous people said they would be interested, this time I only received one response,so I guess there is not much interest in such a place.

Now maybe we can go back to being real Warriors.
Perhaps you would like to enlighten us to what a REAL Warrior is? I've been here years and always thought that Real Warriors had interests above and beyond marketing and that was what the OT was for. Intellectual beings have interests beyond making money and the freedom to share those interests with the people they do business with was no small matter. I guess that makes me not a very REAL Warrior. Perhaps I should get to the main forum and brag about my last month's earnings to redeem my position within the herd.

For those who came into the OT only when they could join into a political thread and then complain when others didn't like your view -- Don't worry - there are others that feel the same and will soon do the same - others much more important and far reaching than yourselves. One day you will understand the importance of what we did here - and were allowed to do. Unfortunately - you won't be able to tell anyone about it. And so it goes.

BTW Steve - very curious subject line.

Sal, while you may not agree with me on this (certainly your right) Allen
does, and that's all that matters.

When people get into political and religious debates it gets ugly because
those are, unfortunately, the things we are most passionate about. I
personally don't have a problem discussing these things, but as Allen as
said before, this isn't the place for it.

And I agree. I have seen some very ugly things said from one person to
another here that wouldn't have been said if these topics were simply
      forbidden at the start.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents on the matter and like I said, the
      boss agrees.

      Ultimately, that's all that matters.

    I agree 100% with you.
    Steve,
    I disagree 100% with you.
Except with the part that it's Allen's forum and he can make the rules which I will abide by,with the hopes that he will reconsider, considering most threads and posts were people stating a difference of opinion and not hate filled.
I can't speak for others, but for me life is too short to hate anyone.

      Steven -

I thought perhaps Allen removed it due to the election year - and I fully expected it to get back to "normal" once the politics settled down.

Easier to just let it be a political free for all rather than have to police it constantly during that time.

NOW - it's up to us (the people that use this section frequently) to use the report button instead of picking arguments with those who break the rules.
And to totally ignore those posting meaningless "pap".

This forum is first and foremost, a marketing forum. Those who can't accept that and are not interested in making money perhaps should go elsewhere.

I enjoy intelligent discussion and debate, and I know real Warriors do also. However, it is quite apparent there are some few who have an agenda rather than a true interest in intellectual sparring. That has been most apparent in political and religious postings recently, and you all know what I'm talking about.

I know Allen has tried on numerous occasions at least since I have been a member of this forum to allow such topics to be discussed intelligently. It just never stays at a level of behavior most of us consider intelligent or decent. Emotions tend to flare on those topics including admittedly my own, especially when so-called "intelligent discussion" is obviously nothing more than an agenda. The forum was never intended as a platform for sputtering. And real Warriors understand Allen's action was necessary.

I don't blame Allen at all, Paul - I'd get tired of having people come knocking at my door every time they skinned their knees, too. I blame those who wanted to get into the topics or read them just to run back and cry about it to him. If you can't handle the heat...stay out of the kitchen and that would have been just fine - but a lot of big, brave warriors thought that the right thing to do was run back to Allen to make sure the big bad evil people couldn't talk any more because they weren't saying the right things. And that is just dead wrong. If a bit of conflict bothers someone, they should consider being Internet Marketing Fluffy Bunnies instead of Warriors.

Every business partner. client, and associate I have had that has been worth a tinker's damn I met in heated Warrior forum discussions. I don't wanna deal with Internet Marketing Fluffy Bunnies - I want associates that have heart and grit. Those that can light up logical progressions and take as well as throw a punch.

I just hope that when the whiners get really cranked up on themselves I am there when they try to burn their first e-books. LOL.

Other than Steve submitting a support ticket (because he was probably sick of all the bickering, like many others probably are/were), I haven't read of any posts of anyone running back to Allen to try and get anything banned.

Sal, this didn't have anything to do with people having heated
discussions over politics. I have no problem with that.

It's how it became personal and how some people were outright rude
and nasty to others simply because of their political views.

I can tell you for certain that relationships were seriously damaged
because of what went on in here and that is why I felt it needed to
stop, not because of the politics.

Truth is, I could give a rat's behind about politics or the discussion of it.
I find it dull and boring.

What I can't sit back and watch is people who were once friends calling
each other the most vile names you can possibly think of.

That's when, IMHO, it has to stop.

I appreciate your not agreeing with this view, or for that matter, even
thinking less of me because of it.

      That, I can handle.

    I agree to disagree.

I wondered why NOW with the elections over and the fighting already stopped, this action was taken.

There were some pretty nasty arguments alright and they were upsetting. I just stopped reading a thread when it got to that point.

I did wish that people could "debate" and share opposing views without going for the jugular, but I guess that is not possible.

However, I really disagree with censorship - it is Allen's forum I realize that and I respect his right to do whatever he wants with it. I am also thankful he doesn't just nuke the OT forum altogether...

I have seen far nastier exchanges and on a much more frequent basis in the Main forum to tell you the truth - and LOL they weren't about politics or religion.

... like I said, I just don't know why NOW when there isn't a single argument going on that I have seen since the election.

Except now in this thread, LOL.

I will miss being able to vent, which is therapeutic and since the government doesn't listen - well what can you do. Buy a punching bag.

I was also very surprised there was no political or religious talk rule while the election was going on. That's when it got really heated, some ppl got downright rude and I wish the rule was in place then and very surprised it wasn't.

If you notice a few people who were constantly making threads during election time are not in the OT anymore since the election is over. Hmmm

I have to disagree as well. If anything, much more hatred is generated in the main forum than the OT forum. Morover, the hatred generated in the main forum tend to be deep and long. For a start, you are talking about people who often competitors in the same business.

There were still a few hot threads, Val. They are gone now - too bad, they were very worthy topics for consideration despite the anger. If you want to study REAL marketing in here - your chance is gone. The topics that brought out the base nature of your consumers are no longer here. But we can still do our fluffy bunny stuff.

Many Warriors did come in for the political threads - that is because they are vital in our world right now. Many will continue the discussions - we just have other places we go to do that. Those of us that were around for the last crackdown have a place -- some never came back so you didn't meet them. Some, like myself, visit both. It's all good. Just watch what has happened because you have seen the true colors of many. You know who can roll with it, and who might be reactive if you go into business with them and have an ideology clash. You know who will be flexible and who needs special environments to be functional. You know who will win through persuasion and who will force their hand to get their way.

If you're gonna play poker, Val - you need to be able to read the cards.

      Valerie,

That Hmmm sounds like you are very suspicious. It was very apparent to me also that many were here only for the political threads, and with a high agenda. But Steven really does care - he cares a lot about all of us. Not quite sure where he got that rat's ass to give, though.

Debates on politics and religion is not the focus of this forum. It's about marketing and making lots of money - which is why I and over 106,000 others are members of this forum in the first place. I did not join to have debates about the end of the world, conspiracy theories, whether or not President-elect Obama is an alien, the collapse of the global financial system, or the reptilian ancestory of world leaders. I could give a rat's behind (oops, sorry Valerie) about such trivial parlor discussions, and only detracts from what is dear to my heart - making money.

What I learned here is that if you want to get rich, you need to walk and talk like the rich people do. So, if you want to get rich like Steven, you should give a rat's ass too. Have you ever seen how Steven walks? Me neither, but I'm sure we all could learn from that. (Seriously, thanks a lot Steven for your dedication and example)

I think we are missing the point about when new members join and see this kind of unbecoming behavior they have a perception this is a rowdy bunch (which we can be) and they lose the vision of what this forum is all about. As we say in marketing "perception is reality". Those of us who have been around here awhile can see through most of this bs, but newer members may become prematurely disillusioned by seeing this type of behavior and leave without ever having seen the potential they can realize by dining with the masters of marketing and success.

Coming here is quite like dining at a 5 star restaurant. We have good food, good company, and good conversation. Success, wealth, and intellectual stimulation is all here. And for desert, we have - the OT. Too many believe the OT is the main course. You are missing so much. But if you like to brawl, go to the tavern down the street and take a good look inside a rat's behind. Then tell me what the future holds.

That's just my 2 cents - a humble, capitalistic, decadent fat ass opinion formed by fine dining with the masters of the Warrior Forum. Never played poker myself, but I see what's in the cards.
