Can I change download location on Ubuntu Live CD?

Hi Warriors. Justt wanted to ask if there is a way to change the default location on an Ubuntu Live CD from the CD itself to an external hard drive. Is there a command for this on the Terminal? I am trying to download the Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO and discovered it downloads much faster on Ubuntu than on Windows. I have tried to download it 3 times on Windows but it somehow stops somewhere along the download. Please let me know if the default Save to location on the Ubuntu Live CD can be changed to another location. Thanks in advance for your answers.
