those are funny - but the way to really hurt their feelings is to give them nothing. don't even mention it. oh, it's valentines day?

Lets just say I have this on good authority - a 'friend' was dating 2 women at the same time - and well there was a 2 for 1 sale on some cute stuffed valentines gifts - so being a poor student he bought the sale and gave each girl the same gift.....

unfortunately the girls had a class together and got to compare notes....

I got , er I mean, he got in a lot of trouble.........

      • @ Shift23 -

This woman is a maniac. She is a cruel, sadistic witch.
Patrician pretty much nailed it -

I was thinking of something I couldn't really print, due to decorum, and possibly numerous FCC violations I can't afford...but this will suffice quite nicely...

but that fellow was trying way too hard for someone who wasn't worth it.

Besides, a real Man knows what she wants...just give a Woman what she really wants!
(You know what I mean, right Ladies? )

Just be honest with her/him at least on the special valentine day. Just open your heart and split it out exactly who you are and all what you got for the partner. Probably he/she will be surprised.

My friends Ex-Girlfriend told him that she didn't want red roses on Valentines day because they were overrated and everybody gets them and that she likes white roses. He spent £130 on bouquet of white roses, lillys, orchids freesias etc to make her happy. When she got them she responded with "Why aren't they red roses?"

To make matters worse, after a few months he was struggling seriously with money since he was only a student, and wasn't eating most nights but luckily managed to find a job. With his first pay check he bought her 12 red roses as a surprise gesture to make up for Valentines day which she responded with "Why are there only 12?"

So for her birthday (in June) he had saved up and had specially ordered a customised bouquet of 12 red and 12 white roses for her with lillys to be delivered first thing on her birthday before he arrived with the rest of her presents. He even had to specially buy his suit to match her dress. She had an argument with him the night before and told him not to come as he would be unwelcome and nobody would want him there, especially her and if he turned up then security would be asked to throw him out.
He tried calling her on her birthday, left messages and text her but she didn't reply to anything or answer and his phone calls kept getting rejected. So trying to avoid confrontation and hostility he decided not to turn up later that night. He then received a phone call from her that night with her yelling and screaming down the phone at him for ruining her birthday and things that had gone wrong were his fault.

This woman is a maniac. She is a cruel, sadistic witch.

... and your friend is a doormat. Why does he think he deserves to be treated like this?

She is bullying him because he is acting like a sissy.

When people act like she does she is saying 'I don't respect you' (because you willingly take my abuse).

What she is trying to get is him to stand up (man up) and tell her he will not be treated like this or he is going to walk.

She is picking a fight every time just trying to make him act like a human being who is being hurt would act if they were normal.

He needs to get as far away from this woman as he can get.

I am serious and if he needs to seek psychological help to understand the dynamic in this horrible relationship, then he should do it.

He should never call her again and if she calls him he should hang up the phone.

Other than being a masochist he sounds like he would make a fine partner for a woman that deserves his kind intentions.

[QUOTE=Patrician;5594785]This woman is a maniac. She is a cruel, sadistic witch.

It's fine now, He broke up with her and then moved from London to LA. She came running after him quite a few times to take her back after that just to be knocked back.

The line she used was "I want to get back together but I need you to prove that you love me" That was pretty much it for him.

That is great news! Thank you so much for letting me know.

I am so glad that he could see.

Now I hope he will remain strong and realize if he relents she will just start with her cruel tricks again:

"The line she used was "I want to get back together but I need you to prove that you love me" That was pretty much it for him."

    yeah right. LOL.

Remember in grade school when you'd design a valentine box out of an old shoe box and everyone would trade cards?

Do kids still do that today?
