This is NOT political

Why is it that people are surprised when the content they trusted to a third party suddenly disappears?

I can only shake my head when I see posts in the main discussion forum asking, "Should I use Blogger for my blogs?"

When will people learn?

That anyone would be surprised to be shut down on a third party site - after they called for an execution....is nuts to begin with.

The post was made to get attention - it got attention. Now it's getting more attention. The idea that a "conservative" view is for courts to abandon the law and start executing people summarily is ludicrous on its face to me.

More likely scenario - complaints brought attention of the third party to the type of content being posted. I doubt anyone will miss the blog.

A blog which calls for "summary executions" is lucky the only thing that happened is the blog was shut down.

It's more than likely the blogger has set off all sort of red flags, and will be watched very carefully from now on.

It may even have been the spooks that got the site shut down.

Right or wrong (I'm not defending Google) this is why you put stuff on your OWN
domain using WordPress or something similar.

NEVER trust your stuff to Google.

    You're just looking for trouble.

Google has a lot of power and influence and never explains why it shuts down blogger blogs, de-indexes sites, or deletes Adsense earnings (is it did for one of my sites, offering no explanation for it even after I asked why, if there is a compliance issue with the site or something).

Not necessarily. If the guy is using a third party blog, it could just be violation of TOS. If he's using his OWN domain blog and someone steps in and shuts him down because they don't want people to know, or don't "allow" what he's saying -- that's fascism.

When I first saw this story, I was worried that Google had someone gained the power to shut down websites. People sometimes say this incorrectly, when they really mean Google has de-indexed them or buried them on page 100. However, when I saw it was only a Blogger blog, I lost interest. I'm not familiar with this blog, and don't care about it one way or the other. But it's Google's blog, so they can set their own rules for it. If you don't want to be "censored," invest $10 in a domain and set up your own site

The same thing happened to a gentleman who was using the free blog to report on the housing crisis. I didn't understand why he would risk posting so much valuable information with Google in control.

Yep, he woke up one day.
