The ongoing carriage fee spat between Viacom and DirecTV just escalated to a whole new level: Viacom has taken a number of full episodes of programs like the Daily Show, and the Colbert Report off its websites. The step was taken to prevent DirecTV customers from accessing the content, but in turn shut off everyone else as well.

(Note: Stewart and Colbert are on summer break (again) so no new episodes of their shows are being blocked this week.)

I can't stand some of the Viacom properties. I once loved the MTV of the 80s - but now MTV is just a cancer on our culture. And Nickelodeon is just a breeding ground for MTV.

I'll take Sponge Bob and The Daily Show - the rest can self destruct as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, the only thing MTV and the 80s have in common now is the name.
But you say Nickelodeon is breeding ground for MTV,then MTV is breeding
ground for 90% of the rest of the crap shows on TV now.
