Neil Armstrong: First man on the moon ‏|Died

Neil Armstrong, first man to walk on a world that was not Earth had died. Getting his pilots license before his driver's license probably didn't hurt when it came to becoming one of the world's most famous men, certainly the world's most famous space man. A remarkable man who was able to accomplish many great things, but his legacy is far larger than himself. He became a symbol of our greatest accomplishments and it is very sad to now be in a world without him.

Neil Armstrong "became" a Muslim

I didn't understand the part: "Neil Armstrong "became" a Muslim".

What did you mean with that?

Sorry to intervene, but I can find no citation to confirm this conversion:

"How Neil Armstrong became a Muslim"

Though we are treading into ground not allowed, this is the only citation (below) regarding the matter which discusses any particular ideology of Maj. General Armstrong other than scientific...

James R. Hansen (2005). First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong. Simon and Schuster. p. 33. ISBN 9780743281713. "It is clear that by the time Armstrong returned from Korea in 1952 he had become a type of deist, a person whose belief in God was founded on reason rather than on revelation, and on an understanding of God's natural laws rather than on the authority of any particular creed or church doctrine. While working as a test pilot in Southern California in the late 1950s, Armstrong applied at a local Methodist church to lead a Boy Scout troop. Where the form asked for his religious affiliation, Neil wrote the word “Deist.”

If this is in error a citation to the contrary would help -

      Cheers

After his retirement from NASA he taught Physics at the University of Cincinnati.
About 30 miles south of where I live.
What I wouldn't have given for an opportunity to have taken that course.

      That would have been cool!

It would have been cool just to run into the guy...unless you were that guy who tried to get him to admit the moon landing was all a hoax, that he reportedly popped!

My dad said he was playing golf in a tournament one time that he was in, and he didn't realize Armstrong was in the foursome ahead of him until someone pointed him out -

Opportunities missed to shake the hand of heroes...
