D.C. man who shot dogs biting boy could face charges - Washington Times

I guess this guy was just supposed to mind his own business and let the dogs kill the child, right?

Because he didn't, and he used a firearm, he now faces several years in prison and several thousand dollars in fines.

Unbelievable.

I would hope they would be lenient in this case, but D.C. has very strict gun laws, and if they were violated (even taking a gun outside your house is illegal) someone will try to make a big deal out of it.

Isn't that a FELONY because he simply owned a gun in washington **********D.C.*********! They really should make the title clearer.

I loved one of the comments there....one person asked if the person was supposed to just stand by and watch the child killed...another posted

No silly, he was supposed to take out his smart phone and record the attack so he could upload it to the interweb. Oh, and call the police and wait.
I hope the kid's parents have the sense to stand up for the good samaritan - but chances are they are looking for a reason to sue him.

  • Personally - I find the dog owner more responsible in this case, than the defendant in question. From the description, the dogs were loose, and apparently vicious, and that bears a greater responsibility in the event. Find them.

The biggest puzzle here is: why would anybody want to live in Washington DC?

They probably will and should throw the case out.

If they don't then it is confirmation that this world has totally gone down the cr****.

And if they throw him in prison, then l suspect that the courthouse will probably be used for target practice for years to come!!!

And of course release some hungry pit bulls on the A***H**** that fine or misprision him! I bet that they won't give a crap about gun laws and other red tape crap, just stop this dog chewing off my leg!

Preview of gun control for those who don't get it yet. It's more important that gun ownership is controlled and punished than it is to save a life.

I hope that they publicize the name of the judge that prosecutes the guy and impeach the guy. We need more impeachments in this country - not more gun control.

They should ask the parents of the child who was attacked if they want to "press charges". When they respond, "No, we'd like him to get a medal", the U.S. attorney's office should be required to ... well, piss off.

In a sane world, a man who saves a child's life would be called a hero.

If anyone deserves to be punished in this case, it's the dog's owner.

      Good grief...
