circa 1965. just saw it for at least the 2nd time.

i watch reruns of the alfred hitchcok hour almost every night. before classic perry masons.

i just have to say i think that is one of his best - really really scary.
anybody else agree?

even though i knew how it turns out - it was freaking me out.

i had to come back to my pc to be where people are there.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekK! save me from the bad man!

what is your fave hitchcock?

hi still up - just got up! staying up. i am going to try to go back to trying to fall asleep now that the scary movie is over.

good morning good evening and good night.
"hello goodbye".

thanks for being out there off the wall warriors!

The Birds, hands down my favorite. I know I saw quite a few A. H. films in my life, but I don't really remember them, so they didn't leave that much of an impression. I remember the Birds very clearly. Good show.

"Tight Rope" and "Rear window" are my favorites, although since l live in AU, Tight Rope hasn't been played for more than 10 years and rear window, every couple of years, (maybe)!!! Grrrrr

        Mines Rear Window.

I've got the box set of all of his films, or at least I think it's all of them.

I like the slow pace of Rear Window and the fact that its focus is upon a single room.

I've got a thing for "single room" movies.

As a comparison, non Hitchcock movie, Dinner with Andre is a favourite too...

Oh yes. The cable gets on a 'kick' - or I guess you call it 'syndication', and the cable TV channels will show the same thing 100 times.

Like Rear Window, Psycho, Birds - I swear I have seen them each 20 times - and I would watch them again if they came on and nothing else good was on!

It's a bit unfair to compare movies to his one-hour television series where 'An Unchecked Window' was - It is so cool to have him live on the intro, breaks and conclusion.

(also cool because there really are no commercials and he will say 'and now a word from our sponsor' and then the screen just flips and the next part starts!)

I hope you Hitchcock fans will catch some of this black and white series sometime.

There are really a lot more Hitchcock movies I don't think I was even aware were by him - back in the day -

What a mind- creepy and still funny - like when he tells you what happened to the crook - as the endings of the films don't always make that clear -

'oh Marsha found her heart throb (long-term relationship) alright - for 50 years she had to look at the prison warden's face' - something corny, but still the way he says it he makes it sound funny.

The 39 Steps is my favourite AH film. Made in 1935, it's actually pretty raunchy. Worth checking out for classic cinema buffs.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

None of his movies freak me out as much as the The Birds!

Maybe it is because it just seems like that could actually happen especially with all of the chemicals and toxins we emit to our wildlife these days.

Ever seen The Birds in 3D?

      OMG!

I had my hands clenched so tight, my fingernails dug into my palms and actually drew blood.

Oh yeah Ken that reminds me of one where every old biddy in town tells this lady her husband may be a homicidal maniac and she begins to think everything he does is suspect for a long time.

however, he really is only secretly installing a new furnace in the basement to surprise her - but when he is done and invites her down to make his big presentation, she sees a hole in the ground and thinking it is to be her grave, she bashes him in the head with the shovel and he falls into the hole dead.

Then she looks up and on the other side there is this big new furnace with a giant bow and everything on it! What gets (me) is even then she doesn't look a bit remorseful or like whoops even!

One of my favorite movies is Rope.
    A classic.
If you haven't seen it, highly recommended.

As far as The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, they are like The Twilight Zone,I could watch them over and over.

That was based on a Roald Dahl story: Lamb to the Slaughter . We got the Dahl version in the UK as one of the "Tales of the Unexpected" episodes. I bet Hitchcock did it better.

My favorite Hitch movie is Vertigo. Also props to The Birds. And I'll never forget the first time I saw Psycho.

Tales of the Unexpected and The Twilight Zone were unforgettable.

I never did go to bed with an easy mind at 10 year old but was always grateful for being permitted to be awake at 1am or whatever stupid time they were broadcast.

.....and not discounting Prisoner Cell Block H. Blaady Screws.
