What Makes GangNam Style So Popular???? I Cant See Anything Which is ExtraOrdinary!!!

Just cant understand how Gangnam style got huge popularity all over the world! The only attractive thing I found is the dance which is a new concept. Also chubby Psy is a real good dancer with his 70kg fatty figure. :rolleyes:

Whats your opinion? Why this song got that much popularity??

      Hmmm, probably because it is fast moving, so you don't get bored, with bright colors and memorable or dancing that is out of the norm.

      And Nostradamus predicted it would hit a billion views, about 500 years ago, so with a 500 year old fan, how could it lose?

    I don't have a clue.

    It's just another silly dance craze but this one has been extraordinarily popular.

    There will be other silly dance crazes.

    For a long time, I didn't even know there is some horse riding simulation involved with the dance.

    It's random, quirky, funny, odd strange weird and completely random and due to these traits, it is appealing to people. They thinkit to be 'sparky' some weird alien thing they've never seen before and therein lies the secret of its awesomeness and viral popularity. It's something different!

      It's just another thumping bassline pop song thrown together to drain the pockets of those folk who have lesser musical insight.

    I just wanted to say there are thousands other videos which are more funny and attractive. But there is certainly a chemistry which makes gangnam style so much popular. I just want to get this trick. As I am an internet marketer so for me anatomy analysis of the song is really important.

    Its Funny? is that the reason? Well I think it has beautiful vivid colors and costumes which please your eyes along the beats.

    Thing to worry about is Why gentleman got so much publicity, I don't like that song that much!

    It's virtually impossible to say why anything becomes more popular than other things, but Gangnam Style has a bit of European techno, American pop, performed by an Asian in a couple of languages, with some humor mixed in. I can see why it would appeal to a wide range of people.

    Its good because its universal - anyone can do it - the guy doing it is not some brad pitt lookalike - hes just a normal looking guy. The dance moves are not hard and the song stays in your head.

    My opinion is there are hundreds of thousands of videos in internet like this one even better than this but those are not getting that much popularity. Well what I wanted to hear till now is now I want to tell and see how you are thinking....

    I think this is one kind of Fashion/rumour. Some people started talking it then rest of other thinking Yeah its cool! One kind of psychological paranoia!

    But I was interested to find marketing policy behind this popularity though.

    The older generation can't understand what this modern music is all about - much like how the prior generation reacted when "rock & roll" began to take over the culture.

    But...

    Rock and Roll was the first music made by young people - for young people and the old fogies didn't like it one bit.

    Here's a good representation of the elderly and church reaction to rock at a local talent show.

    Think about Facebook and YouTube and all the other Social media sites. It only takes a few key people to start "liking" and posting about something and spreading it and it goes viral. 20 years ago it would have been impossible but today everybody is plugged into technology so it's a different world. Stupid can still be good.

      What bothers me more than Gangnam Style is The Harlem Shake. It isn't even the real Harlem Shake and all people do in the videos is shake however they want. There are no signature moves at all.
