My sister just went to see my 89 year old dad. He's having trouble with back pain after he plays tennis.........so, she suggests to an almost 90 year old man that he should smoke some rope. Oh holy -- LMAO. I imagine his undies got a bit soiled on that one.

Maybe ya'd have to know my dad for this to be funny.......but I'm sure those of you with parents that are that old can relate to the reaction he must have had to hearing that one.

An 89 year old playing tennis? WOW. Let me know his secret.

Ha. I can imagine how your dad reacted to your sister's suggestion.

But it would make him forget about his back pain and it's better than any pharmaceutical, chemical crap he could put into his body to get rid of the pain.

I spoke with my stepmother yesterday. They were just about to go out to a freinds place. They have been married SIXTY years! HE is 82 and SHE is 79! SO, she married like her highschool boyfriend and it is their first marriage! She also said they are as smart as ever.

TALK ABOUT LUCK! And HE, at least, plays tennis!

It's not as uncommon as people think. My dad's group of friends do all sorts of things, and they are all around his age. He and my mom were only married almost 40 years - but she was one of the few in my family that died young (coronary). She had a light coronary and in the hospital they gave her a "new" drug and that killed her. Anyhow - after all that time, their eyes would still flash at each other when they saw each other. I was so blessed to have parents who really, deeply, and seriously were in love. But Dad is very old school - very straight laced. I'm surprised he didn't keel when his own "perfect" daughter suggested smoking a hooter to him. LMAO - it's just toooo funny. That generation just wasn't exposed to the realities of pot.

I've made a tincture for Ricky with it to relieve his pain (he's around 15 now himself and his bad arm is kicking up some havoc). Since Sue suggested that to him, I'm tempted to get him to try my homemade tincture without telling him what's in it. But - since I'm the Black sheep, I think I'll let her pull that one on him. LMAO.

Steve, very cool. Sixty years of marriage. I love to hear about long-lasting marriages.

Lori - his game isn't what it was 30 years ago. He was a gym teacher and coach while he was working on his Master's degree and basically, he always believed you either work it or it stops working. Stretches EVERY day without fail, and an active lifestyle. In my family 90 to 110 is the normal lifespan.

Terra - You've met my dad so I knew you, in particular, would get a grin out of this one.
