I was never a fan of superheros appearing together in story-lines. Furthermore, I think Ben Affleck is plain wrong for the role of Batman.

I actually gave this a few minutes of thought last night. I think it will be fine.

Ben Affleck is a fine actor. In Daredevil, there were scenes where he could easily have been Batman. He showed that he can get the build needed to look the part. And he would make a credible Bruce Wayne.

He's played serious intense roles. I think it will be fine.

But all I could think of for a minute was his Brooklyn accent.

I don't know why they didn't get Ron Rule. He already has the costume, tumbler, utility belt....

And I should be Superman. A chubby, middle aged, bald.....never mind.

I'm surprised. Affleck said he wouldn't play another Superhero after he starred on Daredevil.

I'm sure he'll do a fine job. I don't see it...but he's a good actor. I'm sure Zack Snyder will make it work. And he looked good as Daredevil.

I would reserve judgement until we see him.

Is Affleck a more surprising choice than say, oh I don't know, someone like Michael Keaton would have been 25 years ago?

    IMHO...

...The problem with Ben is his head/face is too skinny and tall. LOL! and I'm afraid he's going to look like Ben Affleck in a Batman costume to me.

I do wish him the best and I hope my kids goes to see it with her friends instead of with me.

As sorry as I am to see Christian Bale leave the role, I'm kinda interested to see how Affleck does. He's a decent enough actor (I agree with Claude).

What I'm really worried about is how Disney is going to screw up Star Wars LOL

Terra; You are a married woman. You should be ashamed of yourself...ashamed! And thinking of men as a piece of meat demoralizes us. Men are not second class citizens. We are more than eye candy.

I can't tell you how many times a woman started talking to me, and I would have to say "Hey! My eyes are up here!".

We aren't here just to satisfy every woman's sick fantasy. Men want to be treated with respect, and loved for their personality, and contribution to society.

I can't count how many times I've been walking down the street and female construction workers whistle and say things like "Wow! Get a load of the size of his feet! you know what that means!".

Sometimes I run home in tears. And I've had to stop wearing sandals. Women kept staring at my toe-cleavage.

A single guy cant even go to a bar anymore without some twisted woman trying to take us home with them. Sometimes a guy just wants a drink, you know? Splorf!

            Hmmm, sounds familiar.

Moving right along, yes, I am a married woman and there is no faster way to get hubby to shed his shirt, puff out his chest, suck in his newly developed little bit of belly, tighten his muscles until his veins are bulging and strut around the house looking darn good, than to say "Yum!" at some other male specimen.

Don't judge, it works for me, lol!:p

Terra; First....I'm glad you can take a joke.
After I read your post, I was chuckling to myself because my wife is so different from ...well.....what you said in your post.

She would never...never say that an actor was good looking. What's funny to me is the reason. She doesn't want to hurt my feelings.
I actually asked her once, and it was about Hugh Jackman. I said "Wow, that's a great looking guy"..and she said. "He's a good actor"...

And then it hit me that she's never complimented the way another man looks. So I asked her why. It took some time to get it out of her.

She didn't want to hurt my self esteem. There is something so cute and funny about that. I said "Honey, I'm 58 years old and look it. I know you would never cheat on me, but you can go ahead and appreciate the way other men look, or anything about them"

I just don't know what to think of it. It's sweet and and I'm laughing a little just typing this out.

I was actually going to make a joke about my wife never talking about another man...so I would keep my shirt on....but this just came tumbling out instead.

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday.

I would love to see this Batman be the World's Greatest Detective...the World's Greatest Escape Artist....a man who has 7 contingency plans for every move he makes.

I'm sure there will be action. But the brilliant, driven Batman would be a real challenge for this version of Superman.

Yeah, Affleck may not be a natural action hero, but I think he can give a great performance.

        Man Of Steel
was (to me) a watershed moment in the Superman legend.

I hope the next one has the same tone...and the soundtrack was amazing.

I have no reservations. Anyone one see Argo? Or the Town?
He has mastered total immersion of character.
Daredevil was a poorly written and produced, and he still did a good job portraying the brooding loner type.
This will be epic, and one of many prequels building up to the eventual Justice League Movie.

I hope this doesn't sound completely gay.

Remember in Daredevil, the scene where Affleck is taking a shower, and we see all the scars on his back? That scene is completely taken from a painting of Bruce Wayne changing his costume revealing a lifetime of battle scars.

      The painting is by Alex Ross. Here's an image;

I have been the biggest Batman fan since Adam West and Micheal Keaton I think Christian Bale took Batman to a new level. I think someone like Josh Brolin or Micheal C. The late, great Gene Siskel was always an advocate for Denzel to be named as the next James Bond. Absolutely unconventional for all the obvious reasons, but a thrilling prospect nonetheless.

Yeah, he was discussed as Batman or James Bond. A phenomenal talent, I think.

I remember the big stink that was made when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman in the 1989 movie. He had almost no supporters. And he was great in the part.

I admit though, that when I first heard that Christian Bale was cast in Batman Begins...it was such an obvious choice.

Batman hanging the crook from a rope 50 feet in the air.....
      Crook; "I swear to God!"
      Batman; "Swear to ME!"
You could hear every male fan in the audience geeking out. Including me.

Aaron Echart would have made a good Batman, I think.

It's hard to imagine Ben Affleck or George Clooney winning a fight. There will have to be some seriously good acting to pull this off.

Bruce Wayne (Batman) is supposed to be intimidating once he transforms into the Batman persona. Not sure Ben fills that role unless he plays the thinking mans Batman.

Should Matt Damon play his side-kick Robin?

It wasn't Clooney's fault. The director wanted to make a gay comic book romp. And that's what we got. Affleck looked pretty convincing in Daredevil.

Someone asked Ben Affleck (after the premier of Daredevil) "Could you really beat those guys like in the movie?'

He said "Yes, if they do exactly the same things in exactly the same order as we rehearsed in the movie. Otherwise...No".

And...I don't know how to put this..

Almost nobody is really good in a fight. These are actors. They hire fight choreographers.
