Machine-Assisted Reading For Accelerated Learning?
There're all kinds of machine-assisted reading software (MARS ) available that let you zip through stuff faster than normal by flashing a few words (from a PDF, web-page, or whatever) onto your screen at a time.
I haven't actually tried any of them out... just read about them.
If anyone uses/has used them, how do they affect understanding of the material being read (or do they affect it at all)?
Since you can get to know something pretty good by reading through it several times at normal speed, then, if using MARS doesn't decrease understanding of the material being read, does it mean you'll learn stuff much faster by zipping through it several times with that technology?
Tommy.
