Any of you ever used Fiverr for offline advertising methods like posting flyers around town? Have they generally worked? Any recommendations?

I've personally never tried this, but I am sure if you found the right person (who was honest and wasn't throwing the fliers in the trash...) it could go very well!

    Best,

Would anyone really hand out flyers for $5 though?

I guess you could get them to bulk-dump a batch or two at a handful of joints..

        Hi,

Yes, people on Fiverr do offer to do this, but usually for a small number of flyers. I would imagine though that if for $5 they would deliver, say 20 flyers, if you agreed to pay for multiple gigs, they would put up more (i.e. $10 to post 40,etc.) I would suggest anyone try the person out ans see if they feel OK using this person before going with multiple gigs.

And asking the person to even leave a small bunch of flyers in strategic locations (with permission of the owner where prudent, of course) is not a bad idea either

Many people would be happy to make $5 per hour in this economy...
Perhaps the $5 would be for a solid HOUR of handing out fliers.

On our site of course people could post jobs at higher prices and have
a more fair transaction for this type of service...

        Best,
        Shane

Yeah or give them a real incentive like for every sale/gig I get from them, they get a certain chunk of change.

There is a kid in my old neighborhood that would hand out all of your fliers/postcards/whatever for $10 to the entire subdivision of 900 homes.

He'd go around and get a bunch of companies to sign up and make $200 each time he did it, because he'd pass out 20 different companies fliers at the same time.

Granted, our neighborhood looked like a tornado had gone through it after all the flyers blew off the doors, but you have to respect his entrepreneurial spirit.

I used him a couple times, and saw some results, but not enough that it warranted the printing costs for what I was testing.

Yeah, I bet that neighborhood kids would be the best bet for that small amount of money

If you were inclined to walk a neighborhood each work day, that's not a small amount of money... 5 days a week, it's more than the average household income in the US.

      Hi,

I agree with Shane. If you try this, maybe one way of having an idea/verifying if the flyers were put up would be to ask the person to snap a couple of pics (there is a camera in most cell phones) showing your flyers posted somewhere public. Of course, you don't just want to see an upclose shot of a wall. I'd suggest a certain number of proof pics that show the flyer posted & a view of the immediate surrounding area where the flyer was posted within the pic, and not just a close-up of the flyer. LOL. It is possible that they will only put up the flyers they snap the pics of, but that is the best you can do. Otherwise, if you are not comfortable with the trust part, I'd skip this particular method of advertising. Best of luck whatever you decide to do

I have used it to promote offline youtube videos with subscribers and likes, both for me and for clients. Never for flyers though.

If you were to put out flyers, definitely go the CPA route. Have an offer with a domain redirecting to the CPA lead. With the right area and the right offer you will never have to work with fiverr again!

I don't see why you couldn't do it, but you'd need a way to make sure the flyers got delivered.

Photos might work (as has been suggested). Not sure what other method might work for a spot-check.

I recently learned about Fiverr through this forum. What is the incentive for people to work on a project for $5?

To put food on the table, to get paid for a hobby, Some extra income

to spend or save. Something to do between writing gigs. I'm sure there

      are other reasons.

      Look up Devid in

the War Room he has a great PDF on how to use fiverr.

Well, some people are just looking to make some fast cash doing tiny jobs, esp. teenagers. Other people start out on Fiverr and use that to feed customers to their main site or job. For instance, an article writing service offers to write an article or two for $5 for a period of time, hoping that if they do a great job and get a following of loyal customers, they might stick with them when they move off of Fiverr and then can charge more for the service. I have seen people who write e-books or sell small products for a gig too, with the goal being advertising (the e-book contains a link to their website or affiliate links; the small product is a sample that gets delivered along with a letter or slip of paper advertising their website where other products can be purchased. Those are some examples.

I hope that helps you understand a bit.

I think most of those people that offers to deliver out flyers, just throw them away after they get paid. Honestly, would you do so much job for 5 bucks?

Flier delivery is a service I offer small businesses in my local area. It is an affordable method that works well for service related businesses. The person on fiverr will probably agree to deliver X amount for his price, so you'd need to order multiple gigs. Another way to do this is place an ad on CL.
