Local SEO on Facebook

There is a new group on Facebook 'Local SEO'. The group was created by my friend who is a total SEO nut. He is very passionate about SEO and helping people to promote business with SEO.

The group was created only a couple of days ago. It has close to 500 members now. It is a closed group. If you want to join, you need to ask for it. It goes without saying that you need to be a member of Facebook before joining the 'Local SEO' group. The group is FREE.

What you are getting by joining the group:

Day to day experience of people directly involved in local SEO promotion, questions asked and answered, SEO news, etc.

Some questions I saw:

How are you contacting your local clients to see if they would like a website built and advertised?

I just launched a web directory and I love to have some advice on its referencing.

What resource do you use to figure out how much each local business makes on a client?

I am using a service called Whitespark.ca which gives me a summary of local citations for my clients + their competitors along with their AC rank from Majestic SEO. You can then go after the big fish first because it allows you to rank them by AC rank (like PageRank). Majestic is long established. Hope you find that helpful

Is it better to set up a generic domain not necessarily mentioning the location e.g. localbizservices.com..so that if I want to offer services outside my immediate geographical location I can

All these questions got answers. I am glad that my friend created the group and invited me.

I invite people that are involved or are planning to get involved in local SEO to join the group. This is the direct link:

If you have a problem joining the group, find me on Facebook (Alla Goltsman) and let me know. I don't think you will have problems joining the group.

Best of luck

P.S. I get $0 for this invitation
