First Business Proposal. Any tips?

Hello,

Im in the process of writing my very first offline marketing
proposal and would like to know from experienced offliners who
use proposals what should I keep in mind to protect myself.

I had an appointment earlier today with the heads of a
restaurant that are looking at closing in 2 months.

'They' have little money to start and are looking to put in
sweat equity till they can put in more money.

When I say little money I mean little. $200.00, sweat equity &
meals for starters.

Their numbers are almost none existent after taking over store
last year from other management.

So booming to desert town with no smart marketing at all.

I see it as a pot of gold at the other side of the rainbow.

The restaurant during the day time and club on the week nights
at the local mall business model have a lot of benefits like an
active liquor license, the whole entire mall parking lot when it
turn into a club on the weekend (a place to throw parties with
out having to pay plus cut of the bar sales) and this restaurant
is part of a small chain of 14 restaurants plus the owner own a
printing company so print ads will be really cheap.

The heads of this restaurant were impressed when I spew a few
ways to maximize their budget and incoming dollars.

Basically Im willing to not charge anything near what im worth
upfront to help them get more business so they can re grow their
following.

So instead of them going to the real owner almost empty handed
asking for ad dollars to not close and grow into what he
visioned it can be im sending them back armed with an offer I
hope he will not refuse.

2 for the price of 1 30 second high quality direct response
commercials. 1 for tv and 1 for their web site for 14 separate
locations. 14 separate web sites.

Not sure what I will charge for 1. Might let him name his own
price as long as it's reasonable and profitable for me. I know
my numbers on these and will instantly know if it's profitable
as soon as he mention his price for each one.

14 high quality mobile sites for each location for $500 each.
Top competition here charge several thousand for any site.

$200.00 each to make 14 facebook pages subscribe each like they
get to an email list to get a free desert or appetizer with the
purchase of a meal and other coupons.

$300 - $500 each to set up each store unique email list.

$300 - $500 each to set up an sms marketing campaign.

$500 and possibly up for each web site revamp or creation.

$1000 for professional graphics they can use on their web sites
including location specific graphics.

$250 for a flyer design where he only have to change the web
site address, address, phone # and 3 qr codes. 1 to subscribe to
their email list, 1 to like their facebook page and another to
subscribe to their sms text message list.

Im thinking if 'they' can show this guy where he can save
thousands of dollars on a sweet deal on a lot of work he really
needs and how to grow business across the board he might take
the offer and give this once booming restaurant a stay of
execution.

I will take part of the money from the sale to take it even
further because Im looking at creating really happy client to
generate referrals from.

What are your thoughts on this and what must have bits of
information do you use?

This lead contacted me on my facebook page which have
182 local business friends.

Thanks

I would make the proposal simple and sweet. Tell them what you can do and if you haven't already had the interview show them. But be careful of business owners who just want to know what you will do and how you will do it. And take your ideas and use them for there selves and try and find cheaper people to do it for them. (Been burned once for this. I learned ok ) Hope the best for this! Good luck on your journey

This is a really important fact. Wow. So easy to get fleeced like this. All they got tot say is their current web guy is part decision maker and he's in on the conversation just like that.

      Got to be more careful.

  • Not to put a kibosh on anything...sounds like it could be a lucrative proposal -

But I'm curious...is each restaurant completely unique? Why 14 separate websites?

I'm just wondering - why a several page website wouldn't do the trick...

There might be a need for separate mobile sites due to locations, orders, etc. - but wonder why they would not go to one cool branded site?

This is just me thinking out loud - hopefully you will get some good feedback on this proposal...

    Best of Luck -

      According to them no.

This is something they already have done.

      Each (restaurant/club) location have it's own brandnamecity.com
web site which look crappy on an iphone and on the web want too
much information to join their mailing list. Like ten forms.

It actually can just like pizzahut websites. This is something I
have mentioned in the proposal but I don't won't to waste any
time so my proposal includes specs for 1 or 14 which ever he
      want to do.

It appears his reasons for this is to keep everything separate
by location since he has 14. Haven't got to him yet but if these
people aren't trying to fleece me they will hand send him my
introduction and why they believe in me.

They appeared genuinely impressed at what I was telling them and
how I would 'loan' them a higher priced product to sale to the
owner that will make him more money across the board and give
them a portion of the sale to allocate to their marketing budget
which will come right back to me if they hire me.

I told them I want to really help them impress this guy so their
business will not close, but grow instead and I truly do as they
have employees who depend on them.

      Same answer as above.
