Massive Blinds and Curtains Marketing Plan... Ideas?

Hey Guys

Basically I am need some marketing ideas, so I thought I would ask the lovely folk at Warrior Forum.

Like all of us, I am in the offline marketing world. And my dad, is in the blinds and curtains business.

He is setting up a very complex website where people can buy blinds and curtains online. It is costing a lot to set up because of the complexities (the way the pricing system works, all blinds are custom made).

And he has asked me to help him out with marketing the website once it is set up.

He is going to be investing a lot of money into advertising etc, has even talked about running a TV commercial.

Now the target customers are those in the country where it can be hard to get blinds and curtains.

So how would you guys market and advertise a website which did custom made blinds and curtains that could be purchased online?

    Well these guys are the largest in the UK by miles and they have web, FB and Twitter yet practically all of their leads come from their flyers inserted into Newspapers.

    Blinds, Window & Made to Measure Blinds - Hillarys Blinds UK and this is their web only site Blinds | Made to Measure Blinds, Ready Made Blinds - Web-Blinds

    They have 600 million per year inserted.

    Anyway have a look at them and see if there is anything you can copy.

    If the target customers are those in the country where it can be hard to get blinds and curtains...are you sure those target customers have access to the internet?

    Hi James,

    I suggest that he JV (Joint Venture) with Real Estate Developers, Interior Designers, etc. rather than running TV commercials.

    You can easily accomplish this by finding complimentary companies on the Internet to find partners.

      Have you thought about an affiliate programme too?

      It would sit alongisde your traditional marketing plan but if done correctly it could help generate a signifuicant number of leads and hopefully sales.
