How Many Folks Sell Info Marketing Products to Offline Businesses?
A lead I got this week from 15 minutes of work converted into a 10% commission on a $24,000 job. So needless to say I have stopped doing web design for now. This has been far more profitable and its something I'm looking to get better and better at. I don't have to kill time designing sites, I don't sell the leads I only collect commission on sold jobs.
The second I get the lead I return the call to set up an estimate, call the business up, they send out a salesmen, if it sells I get 10%.
Since this has started I have become VERY open minded in my approach with small businesses. Like people on here seem to do a lot of web design, seo, ppc... but does anyone sell info marketing products to small businesses?
The real reason I ask is 2 days ago I began writing my own pdf. It will be an elaborate, hi quality ebook on how small businesses can utilize CL to effectively generate leads. There is nothing abstract about this book and I want it to be one of the most resourceful ebooks on this topic. I may also provide instructional videos too I'm not sure yet.
I get really specific and provide many of my own ads as templates. I have provided a swipe file to get these businesses started. I explain step by step how they need to approach it. Things like not opening up alot of accounts at first, taking the quality over quantity approach. Then once they have a wealth of working ads I show them how to scale up posting on CL.
Anyways I'm putting a lot of time into this ebook so my question is how should I market it? I know I can put an ad up on CL, but I'm afraid selling info products on CL will be too slow a process. Would offline/direct mail/walkins be a better approach?
Has anyone ever done something like this before and how did it work? I'm really trying to persue things I love doing, & I love building websites, but issues with outsourcing cause it to be very time consuming. Generating leads has not been time consuming at all (well it is just nowhere near webdesign).
My goal is this. Since I can't generate leads for every remodeling business that exists, I'm going to limit myself to 2-3. But on the side I'm going to provide leads to their competitors for free, then sell them the book on how I'm generating them leads.
Maybe thats a better idea? Just looking for thoughts on this.
