2 Quick Questions: 1 About SEO & 1 About WP Themes

1) I'm worried about offering SEO offline because of the ups and downs of it. To some degree it can be random. Gosh, what if their SEO rankings decrease because of a change in the algorithm! Yikes! How can this be overcome?

2) When selling an offline-based WP theme multiple times, companies in the same industry could have rather similar looking sites and wouldn't be too happy about it. Do you recommend not using the same theme?

Thanks so much

    I can't help you with #1
I am steering away from that as well

#2... You could always sell custom sites...
Otherwise, use different themes or pick up clients in different areas.

Why not just use a pay per call/pay per lead business model and then you don't have to worry about it?

    Ross,

I totally agree with the guy above about question two, you can reuse similar WP Themes in different markets and your client nor his customers will ever see the similarity.

Might want to have a few different themes to rotate in different geological markets.

As far as question #1, Local SEO is much more stable and clearly defined than something like "weight loss" or whatever online.

I've been "experimenting" (won't say I know what I'm doing, that's for WSO sellers), but local SEO done right, should not concern you. You can do that.

The bitch is trying to rank something like a local directory like I am, that still relies on the new google scheme. Ranking a local site is child's play compared to that.

Well, about your first point let me tell you that it is possible to sell SEO services successfully if your clients understand the Google dance for the keywords. Of course, you will need to use top tools such as SENuke and UAW to make your job easier.

About your second point, you can hire a freelancer at odesk or Elance or hire someone at Fiverr. They do the design job very cheap.

If you got traffic to them via a website via other methods than SEO or bypassing the website, you would not be so concerned.

Other methods: ads (ppc, craigslist, etc), postcards, ads in the local newspaper, events, etc.

I wouldnt worry to much about SEO and Local if you have plenty of content and keeping it all updated. making it appear to be normal.
Far as a theme If your selling it ALOT of times I would change it up a bit for 2 reasons
1 if your selling to a bunch of people local and they see it all over what will they think?
2 who knows what goog will do look at some of the past things they have caught on to

As SEO for off line clients is concerned, you should always to have up to date knowledge on Google rules and its liking for SEO.

One Theme in every website not suits. Always the theme should be customized according to the niche.
