I need a contract for local webdesign clients.

The last time I did sites for local businesses, I ran into a bit of trouble when one of the companies had ownership disputes between the partners and split-up, both parties coming to me with lawyers and demanding that I transfer the site to them.

Anyways, that's all sorted and I do really enjoy making sites for local small businesses, but I'm looking for a good template of a contract that I can use to make sure I'm not liable for things that are outside of my control, and to clearly state WHO I'm making the site for, should any of these companies run into ownership disputes.

Thank you kindly for pointing me in the right direction!

Hey there, there was a friend of mine on Blackhatworld that actually was given away his main contracts and agreements and such, the mediafire link is below.

    Takticals Offline ToolKit.zip

NOTE: I don't own these, nor did I create them, but I can verify they are a freebie, no opt in or anything, that's his link, not mine.

    Hope that helps!

I'll be providing some contract examples soon on my blog, but these should work for now!

Thank you Mark, I've skimmed those and they look great. With some minor tweaks, they should fit the bill perfectly.

Glad to hear it, let me know if you have any questions about this type of thing, I remember having to deal with it extensively when starting out. I'm glad I put time into getting it all put together properly haha.

I will be posting about this on the blog too, so look out for that.
