Cold Calling Help Needed...

We are a small web design company. We have excellent quality control on the websites we build. All our work is done in USA.

However our marketing right now is pretty much word of mouth, and we need to expand. Thinking of ideas out of the box. Tried cold calling myself but as you all know it is an acquired skill :-)

To expedite the process of selling more websites, I am thinking of using hired guns. Has anyone used companies like Outbounders.com and the likes?

Any thoughts on how we can get new customers?

Does anyone recommend any lead generation software (scrapers etc)?

Any advise appreciated as we are new.

Look up Jason Kanigan's posts, videos and items he sells.

  • You are going to find success faster if you niche yourself. Determine what industry or two that you are strongest in now and expand that base. Cold calling or any other lead gen tactic will be easier and more fun.

great point so you start to get referrals from the niche(vertical), your an expert.

And, consider you only have to cold call for a limited time before you can proactively ask for referral's and have a high % of new clients with warm associations not cold.

      you can do it.

reference Jason Kanigan's thread on "how to handle References" Question in the video he posted of when you have a few happy clients...

thread tiitle here : "Headtrash, and the handyman's secret weapon: Duct Tape."

I agree with the niche idea and makes sense. At least this way we will not be all over the place.

      Thx

I've studied a script that provides the best way to get your point across to the potential buyer. This gets you past first base. Then you can move on to meeting the person at their place of business. Bring your paper work to get signatures and that is that.

You mentioned a script. Is it possible to share?

Also, if you are wanting to attract sales people to help market then maybe consider recurring commissions if you charge monthly service fees.

Our customers pay monthly subscriptions to use our product and we pay commissions for the life of the account(s) they generate.

This too is a good idea. However at the moment I am having a hard time recruiting any type of sales people. I may start of with odes and the likes...and once I have established myself work with more permanent sales people.

      Thx

Create a bait piece your target buyer would want to read.

The information in it has virtually nothing about you in it.

It's everything about another business getting great results.

    Offer that case study.

Heck you don't even need to have created those results yourself.

You find those online like I did for a client
    who was new to webdesign.

After completing the project, I showed him the links where I got the
    case studies.

It bought in 25k worth of work in 2 days.

The key is getting valuable information in the right hands.

Then offer to implement so the reader can get similar results.

    Best,
    Ewen

I had a quick look at the web page. Have you used this personally? The page itself does not mention anything about the sources for the leads. How can I tell or should I even care what the sources are that the software is scrapping from? What about cross referencing against other directories etc?

      Any comments appreciated.

go into the WSO section, and search the directory plus the word scraper

        like this
        google+ scraper
        yellowbook+scraper
        facebook+scraper
