Even though i have never used them, i hear Market Samurai and Brad Callen's SEO Elite are about the best.

I simply stick with Google Keyword tool and Wordtracker obviously because they are FREE

The best keyword tools are what I use daily:

1. SEMRush.com
2. Market Samurai, see my sig.

I use some others that are proprietry and I can't mention them as they are not accessible by non-members of some closed communities I belong to.

But these two are my staple for my SEO and IM work.

You are in need of "market opportunities" that are produced from live data.

Some free tools such as Google Keyword are a great place to start but here is the tip:

Free Tools are not going to give you the opportunities that the pro's are finding.

Why?

Because the free tools are used by far too many folks and you will have too much competition by the time you get the same info and respond like everyone else.

Paid tools are indispensable if you want to find the gold in the markets.

Just hope that most people reading this, don't believe me and just keep on using the free tools, while you pick up on this valuable take away.

PS. You don't have to buy before you try, both these have a free trial, period or usage somehow.

I agree with you gtgart that such paid tools are indispensable eventually.

It is just a question of allocation of scarce resources amongst competing ends and the setting up of your scale of preference for each time period.

The free tools still gives the basic with which one can still run/penetrate the market. When i get to the "guru" stage, i'll get tools to compete with the guru's

Payment comes calling very soon thereafter.

I for example prefer to invest in Steve Shaw's article submission service which is quite expensive.

Hi Steve,

It depends what you're after. I've been using keyword tools for over 7 years and each one I've tried has its own plus and minuses. I used Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai as well. For simplicity, Micro Niche Finder works well.

James Jones Micro Niche Finder is the ultimate. Kevin, their programmer knows his stuff and Justin and the girls are terrific for support, webinars, answering questions and lots of other things. They all go the extra mile

James himself is hands on interactive and up to the minute with Micro Niche Finder, so when it comes to getting free updates questions answered ... Micro Niche Finder has got to the way to go! I've had it for about 3 years now.

James Jones has terrific support, his keyword tool, Micro Niche Finder, comes with free lifetime updates, as does all his product, and the he runs a different webinar every week with weekly specials at prices that can't be beaten. Usually around 7 buck per week. The 'EVery Other Friday' Newsletter is a must.

Thing is .. especially when first starting out with Keyword Research .. support and back up is everything! I'd be going Micro Niche Finder if i were you! It's cost effective, you get lifetime updates, it's easy to use, gives you accurate information and has the back support needed if you a question you want answered.

Free is good, but there comes a time when you have to pay for basic working tools for an Internet Business like your Keyword Research Tool ..

I agree Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai... I have combined both many times for research. You won't go wrong with either one or a combination of both.
