Program that uses 3d models

Hello all! I've been curious as to how one would program a 3d application. For example say I'm wanting to create a program that allows someone to create a 3d ice cream cone by selecting what type of cone they want, then ice cream, then toppings, all of these being objects that a user clicks on and drags to a designated location constructing their cone. Then once completed they can view their cone in 3d and rotate it around. I've been playing around with blender creating simple 3d models, now I'm just curious as to how i could use these models to create a standalone program, say an executable file that an end user can open and run independently....Anyone have any input or could point me in the right direction?

Blender has a "video game" engine , and can build applications to stand-alone .exe's.

Try googling: "blender video game engine"

    Have you investigated that option?

Let me know how it works ... I built a small racing game from a tutorial, but haven't done anything as complex as you're describing. If it works, I'd really like to see it!
