I'm looking to make a daily deals site like Dealboard here in Australia (not to be confused with the iphone App which seems to have similar features).
Just a standard group buy deals type website offering people discounts.

Does anyone know of a script or program that allows me to set up a program that would handle this kind of work on a website, and also if not able to manage group deals, able to have a similar layout but be for affiliate deals and links?

On top of this is would be nice to have a members area, where they can accrue points for every purchase / entry / referral etc etc.
Even if you only have something to do this, I would very much like to get my hands on something like this, as well as the Dealboard type features.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

It's not something you will be able to do by installing a script or plugin. What you're describing is a custom built site. You need to be fairly competent with PHP/MySQL and Javascript to make it do all of the things you want. If you don't have experience, you're looking at a major learning curve. It would probably be worth your while to hire a developer.

uhuh, thanks. I do have some basic programming knowledge.
I was just hoping perhaps someone out there had used some similar platform, or similar to any daily deals website, and could provide a brief review of said software script.

Anyone else know of a script or software for sale that could help me tap in to such a niche?

there are plenty of script sites I've seen over the years. I remember seeing one some time ago, that might suit your needs for this Dealboard site, but I can't remember the name of the script.

Do other people have some ideas for good general sites that sell ready made scripts to run on websites, or perhaps free scripts?

I just found hotscripts.com and scriptcopy.com with a quick Google search. I am sure there are plenty more available, but they will keep you busy, and me for a while.
The clone ones look interesting to work with and re-develop into my own thing.

I looked at that script copy website, and their products and programs seem low quality, and you have to pay for them. It is a useful link with similar sites to flickr, facebook, paypal, and even retail me or not. But do you know of any more helpful sites similar to this one with a range of similar programs we can integrate into our website?

You should try contacting them directly.
There's is nothing to lose by asking them, but it's usually a bit difficult to get past the receptionist to speak to the right person, but Australians tend to be nicer culturally than some business people.
Dealboard seems to have a ticket system here: DealBoard's Customer Support Team
Give that a go. Otherwise a custom site built to your exact needs is the best deal you can get.
Ask someone here on the forum who are specialists in coding, wordpress blogs and php etc
