Clunky-Loading Site - Please Help!!

Hello o wise programming warriors!

If anyone has a spare minute, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look at this site: www.gomanfoods.com.au and let me know if there's a magic trick to make it load faster? At the moment it's very clunky.

It's made up of a LOT of images which need to be kept, so I'm not expecting a miracle, but then again, if you don't ask you won't receive eh!

Cheers,
Sissy

The load time seems fine to me.

You can check your page loading speed Pingdom Tools - it will display the load time for all the individual elements so you can see which ones (graphics for example) are causing the greatest delay.

I'd reduce the main jpg filesize from its current 114 KB file size to something smaller.

All of the files and images (including HTML) on that page are 154.46 KB total (according to: Cogah - Webpage Size And Speed Test).

So that's fine for broadband. I'd imagine your internet connection - or your host's bandwidth - is a bit slow if you are experiencing slow loading times.

The site loads just fine for me!

You maybe could optimize the images a bit, but you might save a second or 2 off the load time, and then you have to ask :

"Is 1-2 seconds of load time a worthwhile usage of my time??

    Take care

Totally agree Bruce. I can't justify spending that time for only 1-2 seconds of benefit. If it's loading fine for you and everyone else whose replied, the problem's obviously at my end!

      Cheers,
      Sissy

Seems to load ok for me, but if your concerned about images sizes there's 1 thing that will make some difference:

    Yahoo Smush it image tool

Aaahhh, you're all wonderful! Glad it's loading fine for you all, I've been meaning to upgrade my computer & broadband plan for a while now, seems like I have a good enough reason to do both now.
Thanks so much for all of your sage advice.

      Cheers,

i think because u design the page background with multiple slices images, then it will be loaded a bit slower when displaying the images.

I will suggest to use 1 background image to display the website page Hope it help!
