Save changes not working WP

I bought a theme from someone on here 3 weeks ago.

Installed ok but when i try to make changes in admin to it when i hit save changes it just reverts back to default settings.

Have tried contacting seller but they are not responding.

Anyone know what could be causing this problem.

Have installed on fresh install no plugins etc

Fernado, have you tried switching to the default theme and save the changes to see if it works? This way we can see if it is theme related or your WP installation.

Also, what changes are you trying to make?
EX: Changing a post, page, permalink, page template, functions, sidebar...etc

Maybe the name of the theme or a link to it also.

That will help us narrow down the issue.

The problem is with the theme admin settings that revert back to default after making changes.

If the theme isn't saving its settings in the WP database, it's probably trying to save them to the directory it is installed in. Either change the permissions for that directory to 777 or find the file with the settings and change its permissions to 666.

Have checked all files they are all set at 755, would it be the theme-editor php file that needs changing to 666

that definitely sounds like a file permission problem like Kirk posted above.

I would simply change all file permissions to all .php and .css files in that particular theme directory to 666

Just changed all files to 666 still same problem nothing saves.

Have un-installed theme, then reloaded through ftp, what i noticed when it was loading to server was about every 5th command line was coming up critical error.

Does this look like the theme download i have is corrupt
