What kind of coding or script is this?

Hey all,

I was reading an article recently on nytimes.com. And as I scrolled down to a certain point on the page, a nice little box slid in from the bottom right corner of the screen, informing me of another article in that category, that I might be interested in.

To see what I'm talking about, go to nytimes.com and click on any of their articles. Scroll down a bit and the box should slide in. Scroll back up and it disappears.

Another example is on mercola.com - click on one of the "top stories" and scroll down to see it.

I was wondering if someone could give me a better idea of what coding or script this is?

Thanks.

What are you looking for? The slide-in part or the related articles part?

Any javascript libarary can do this just about.

You can also find little downloads of javascript code that can do it as well.

Essentially it's a div tag being modified by a javascript call.

Linux is an OS...not a language. Do you mean you want to program desktop applications or web languages?

Desktop applications can use just about any programming lanauges used with windows.... PHP and Java are the biggest for web technologies.
