Google AdWords PHP Rediect Issue
Hi everyone.
I tried searching this Forum - and the Internet - for a solution to this problem. I apologize in advance if this has been answered elsewhere, but I have done a good 30 minutes of searching with no result.
Having abandoned AdWords for Facebook Ads (I am sick of Google telling me what I can and cannot do!), I have gone back to them as they gave me a £100 voucher this month.
The new interface is even more pants than before, and I really hate the Google arrogance that just exudes from their page. Ugh!
Anyway, I am trying to use affiliate links via PHP redirects on one of my websites. Google lets the adverts run for a few hours, then disallows them, allegedly because the destination URL does not match the display URL, which is not true - I have them down exactly the same.
Since I never use www in my domains, is this the issue?
Alarmingly, Google sent me an email that included this in their message:
"Ads with Display URLs that redirect to a different Destination URL are not
permitted."
So that would appear to be the end of Google Adwords for affiliates. However, my inability to find any form of backlash makes me think this cannot be the case.
BTW, I'm not some newbie - I've made millions for bricks and mortar businesses using Adwords over the years. Just not used it for affiliate marketing for some time and I cannot belive they wouldn't allow something like this, which must be a major source of revenue for them.
Is it the case that I cannot use php redirects? Am I missing something vital? Or is there a way around this - maybe using htaccess?
