best way to keep a mailing list
So I'm about ready to release what I think could be quite the viral iPhone game (if I do say so myself).
The app contains bonus functionalities which can be unlocked by points by scoring on the main game. I'm thinking of making an incentive for users to register their app by rewarding them with some of these points, in exchange for their email address for future notifications of new apps, etc.
My question is, what platform do people usually use to do this? Are there any existing packages to do this with? I'm not sure about using external services, because I definitely don't want to spam these users.
Would prefer a linux solution, but yeah.
