Get traffic to an affiliate ecommerce store

Hi guys

I just finalized the first phase of building my site about men's shoes (mainly athletic/sneakers). I have about 120 products (Adidas,Jordans etc) with original descriptions (pictures from affiliates) and a blog with 12 articles (about 300 words each) with my own pictures.
Site moves pretty fast and it's quite attractive I would say, my bounce rate is 3-6% daily for the past month, so who gets there likes what they see.
Because there is not much to say about shoes I am having trouble coming up with bigger articles that will bring me a significant # of visitors, I was wondering which is the best way for me to get some good traffic?

You don have to write a thousand words unless the article warrants it. Seriously, stop worrying about word count and focus on providing value. If you can provide enough value to satisfy your visitors in 500 words, then publish a 500-word article.

You need inbound links and traffic. The right inbound links will get you the traffic.

You might explore writing some guest posts for high traffic sites in a related niche. This is a great way to bring in traffic.

If you have a budget, you might also look into PPC or PLA ads. Unfortunately, you can write the best articles in the world on your own blog, but people won't know they exist if someone if Google isn't ranking them. And Google isn't going to rank them unless they have zero competition or have links pointing to them from other related sites.

    Hope that helps.

Why would anyone shopping for shoes read an article about the shoes?

I've bought a few pairs of shoes before, I never once read an article about a shoe. IMO the whole idea of shoe articles is silly.

Your selling Jordans. So... research the demographics. My bet is the buyers are 15 - 20 year old males interested in basketball. So... where do those guys hang out on the web? That's where you need to be advertising.

Jordans are a visual product, focus on images, images will do most of the selling (besides the brand name).

You're making a great point, I created the blog in the addition to the main content/woo commerce store. Now I have to figure out where my demographics hang

These types of Google searches will get you started with traffic sources:
        • "basketball" "shoe" inurl:"forum" intitle:"help"
        • "air jordan" "shoe" inurl:"forum" intitle:"help"

Now..., without spamming links create a free product that will advertise your shoe domain.

Look at the page titles in the SERPs, what do people need help with? Build a free product based on those answers, advertise inside the free product, drive traffic back to your branded domain.

Personally If I was selling shoes I would have at least one free pdf file that included a printable shoe size chart since traffic will be at home ordering online & not have access to one of those foot measuring doohickeys at the local shoe store. Remember, odds are the Jordan shoe demographics are mostly teenagers, their feet are still growing/changing size (length/width of feet).

Here's an example pdf, do not copy it, just use it as an idea for creating your own freebie to help draw in traffic.

This way you don't even have to host the product on your own domain If you don't want to so it's not like your spamming links. Example, most forum platforms allow free file hosting for pdf files. Create a quality free product & traffic will share that branded product when they see other people asking the same/similar questions they once had before they found your free product (ex: printable shoe size chart).

That's only a single source of traffic, get creative & repeat the process with more freebies to keep drawing in long term traffic sources. Those traffic sources will also help build organic links (think big picture).

Thank you for the time you took to explain this all to me, I find it very useful. I will start the research soon, now I have some valuable hints to start with. You do mention about how some forums allow to host the file (pdf) that I would make. How would I upload it? It will be an option in the message area?
