Company name in H1 / Title - local/organic SEO

Hi,

How much of an importance is the company name in a H1 or title for organic/local seo?
I just came across a listing which was second for a local search term - they have their company name in the H1, and scattered across many other elements on their homepage.

They don't appear in the 7pack local listing, but they are second organically. Why is this?

    They aren't ranking because they have their company name in a H1 tag on their site and you don't need to include your company's name in a H1 tag in order to rank well. Basic on-page optimisation and backlinks are all you need.

    In my experience no need of adding company name in H1. Your meta title should be in this order. Primary Keyword|Secondary Keyword|Brand Name. You can add your company name in title tag and in meta description also.

      I agree with this. I also follow this type of title. This is the standard form for a title tag.

    No reason to place your company name in a H1 tag.. If only a lot of people (over 40-50% of your visitors!) search for your company name before visiting your website in Google for example!

    Title tag,meta tag and meta description is needed. Putting company name in H1 does not matter.
