Forum software with SEO in mind

Does anyone have forum software experience and have an opinion on which ones are best for SEO? Or do you have an opinion on any particular software being superior for any reason? I am going to build a forum; I previously used vBulletin years ago. I think that is what this forum uses. It used to be considered a top program but it seems I recall that they got bought out or something and maybe something else is better? Ease of managing it is important. I would think any would generally work. The members would just be making posts and uploading photos occasionally. I hope to scale it up to be a big forum; it has potential to go international. I hope to earn ad revenue.
