Is this worth doing to get back links - best of niche blogs - post?

Do you think this can be a good way to generate some authority links?

Do a best of post on blogs in your industry, then give the blogs a heads up that they were featured in your post.

Also if this can help what do you think would be an appropriate way to word the email to the blogs?

    I guess that if your website has some authority then it will be considered by other owners and you will be likely ask by a reciprocal backlink, but if not, then they just will thank you.

    I do not think that they will post on their blogs 'hey I was featured on xxxxxx blog' if your website is not recognized at least a little.

      Hear that. My site's domain authority is around 26 at the moment. I guess maybe it could be more beneficial to do later on.

        But you may miss out on all the traffic in the meantime. Every time I search for almost anything, Google shows at least 3 of these types of posts.

          I do blog anyway, but I could see that adding some traffic. I guess for a post like that to rank the odds would increase if the authority sites would link to it, so that's also part of what I was wondering about.

    Usually blogs won't link back to you but will instead just thank you or ignore you if you're still a small website.

    If you're a relatively big authority in your niche then sure! People would be excited to be mentioned on your website and they would want to link to that post.

    As mentioned above, this idea would work if your blog has high authority. If the blog doesn't have much authority behind it then the links you're giving won't count for much anyways. Make sure your website is strong and has lots of good links coming in. People in the same industry will be dying to get their links on your site then!
