People Copied my Data and Now they are on Top

Hello Everyone,

I have a website, monitizing it via adsense. Was earning $3000 per month about 2 years back, than i faced a penguin penalty. (I never used to make backlinks)

Now i can see some websites having my content on theme on top of google, and my site is no where. Nowadays my site is earning just $100 per month. I changed the domain previously but it didn't help. I need suggestions on how to get my rankings back, and what to do with those people who steal my content.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I recently dealt with this on a small scale. A website copied my content and was ranking above me for my main keyword. I filed a DMCA with hostgator and reported them to the affiliate network they were making money from. Result: within 24 hrs the content was down. Obviously find out what hosting they are using (quick Google search will tell you how to do this).

    The Penguin update targeted sites that practiced bad linking strategies. Since you said you never made any backlinks, are you sure that's the penalty you actually received?

    In regards to the content, you can always file DMCA complaint against the sites that copied your content. If the outcome is positive, search engines will demote the bad sites so that your site will rise back to the top.     Sorry about that my dear. If you are yet to file the website for the DMCA, you will be the one to be punished for copying content and Double content.

    So file DMCA to the web host they are using.

    1. Contact the hosting company e.t.c. as per what above posters mentioned

    2. Report the site to Google at http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport

    If you have published that content content on your site first, Google will treated it as duplicate for others.

    Also use do not copy function on your site so that no one can copy your site content.

      duplicate content is the biggest myth and misunderstanding of seo. google doesnt care who publishes what first. duplicate content is about content on your own website (Duplicate pages containing the same content), it's nothing to do with someone else taking your content.

          A DMCA? I can't believe how many of you fall for that nonsense.

          DMCA has nothing to do with this.

          The majority of the world steals content, and does not care.

          DMCA does not work for China, India, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Iran,
          Syria, Venezuela, well, just about the rest of the world...

          I can't believe you people have no idea how to really deal with this.

          Google does not care to hear your sob story.

          If someone is outranking you for your own stuff, either you suck so bad,
          or they have really done their homework.

          So, unsuck your site and do your homework.

          Oh and by the way, one in the US can actually use copyrighted material.
          It happens legally everyday. I use it. Big friggin' deal. There are so may
          ways to use it, you'd be a fool not to if you actually need it.

          We've upped our standards, so....up yours!
