Amazon Affiliate Link Question

So, I have a product on Amazon. (A Book)

I am starting to promote it, and I have a question about link building for the amazon product page.

Obviously I am going to build keyword targeted backlinks to the amazon page so it ranks higher in Google ( I am going for natural search here, I have other internal amazon marketing efforts.)

It only makes sense that when building backlinks to the product page, I use my own affiliate links (might as well get as much as I can from the sale)

My question: If I create a Keyword link, and it is my affiliate link, will this link be providing a quality backlink to my amazon product page or will the SEO power of the link be wasted because it is an affiliate link?

I know this is an unusual question, and I don't even know if it matters, but any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe I am reading your post wrong but if you use an affiliate link the link will be pointing back to the merchant page in this case Amazon and not your product page on your website so you website will not benefit from your link building efforts in this situation.

    Hey lonnie,

Thanks for the response but actually you are reading my post wrong.

I want all the links to point back to amazon because the product on Amazon is mine.

I am doing link building for the amazon product page itself, because it is mine.

I am simply asking about using my own affiliate ID in links to the amazon product page so I can earn twice (product sale and affiliate) if someone buys.

Be careful. You may be violating terms of being an amazon affiliate.
You cannot do keywords using amazon or anything like it.
If you make money off sales of the book, forget the affiliate
bit altogether. Just put a link to the book on amazon and
you can SEO your landing page anyway you want. Why risk
doing anything grey hat, so to speak. You run the risk of getting
      your book banned from amazon.

I believe amazon has a program for authors, musicians, etc. to
sell their own items on their own websites via amazon links.
Different than being a regular affiliate. You should contact them about that.

Use it all you want. Just send people to amazon from your website.
In addition, we will not pay referral fees for any purchases made by customers referred to us through Special Links generated or displayed in response to general Internet search queries or keywords.
