What would you do next?

Hello everyone!

I have been on and off this forum for several years but rarely post. Truth be told, I have some knowledge but it's rarely enough to be preaching or telling others how or what to do. But today, I was hoping I could reach out to everyone and ask for some opinions on next steps.

All content on this site is created by me and it's all original. This site is roughly 3 years old and has about 100 pages worth of content. All backlinks you see accumulated are 100% natural. I have not done any backlinking except for a couple of youtube videos. I keep getting links to 2.0 sites that are legitimate, but don't carry a lot of weight.

My questions is. What's next? Where do I go from here. I would like to start backlinking but I don't want to do anything that's going to hurt my site. I want to get those pages that are ranked 11-30 up to the front page.

I have a little bit of time now to put into working on this site. Do you recommend focusing more on content, or more on building links to make the current content rank better.

The rankings I currently have, have pretty much withstood any google update that has occurred. But the weird thing is that I used to be able to get a page to rank without any backlinking, on page optimization was enough. Now, even though my old pages hold their rank, I can't get anything to hit the first page of google. Even though the competitors are almost exactly the same for the other keywords. I know there are different factors at play, but it's strange that all my pages on the front page of google are my oldest pages. And haven't moved, everything ranking from 11 on are mostly my new content.

Any input is tremendously appreciated. I really want to take this website to the next level. I'm very proud of it and its something that genuinely helps people out. I want to maximize it's exposure, and of course my earnings. But this really is a win win, for me and for people finding my content.
