Is it difficult or Impossible to gain Traffic in a Free weebly site?

Good Day to All.. My Name is Mark from the Philippines. I'm a newbie in creating a website... I did some SEO to my Free site from weebly I just learn stuff from searching the net and from youtube videos teaching on how to create a website. the website that I create is all about streaming live sporting event. My Intention why I created the website is to cater to Filipinos abroad (OFW"s) that they have a place to go when they wanna watch live sporting events. As I did my research, content is important (blog). But my website would not have that kind of content. Is there a way that I can reach to them and gain traffic to the site. I have a twitter account that i made and a facebook Page for the site... Your help is much Appreciated! thanks...

      Good Day Sir... Thanks for your reply... Form the start I knew that hard work is involve... what I lack is Strategy on how to reach to them and gain traffic in an honest way... I knew as well that trust is a Major part in making a campaign....

    SEO is difficult for any site. Requires a lot of time, skill and effort. You need to be getting traffic from other sources like facebook, twitter, youtube, forums or sharing sites. Paid advertising like google or facebook can send a lot of traffic but can be costly if it isn't done correctly.

    Its a better idea to have a self hosted site and learn how to use wordpress. its about $5-10 per month for a basic hosting plan and about $15-20 per year for the domain.

      I just want to ask one question that, does it bring traffic on main page of website or different pages/posts within the website?

    It is no more difficult to generate traffic to a Weebly site than any other type of website. Traffic and SEO are two different things. You can generate traffic through marketing, paid or social. You can increase that traffic by having well optimized pages that are linked to by other relevant, high quality websites. Whether it is a Weebly site or not doesn't affect whether you can get those links or create well optimized pages.

    Bottom Line: it doesn't matter what platform you build your site on, it's always going to come down to content, backlinks and marketing.

      Quality traffic.... Id rather have 100- 200 Visitors that i can cater that really interested in what im offering... than to have a massive traffic that is poor in quality.... is my idea about traffic wrong?

        There's nothing wrong about your idea but the point is how can you measure those interested people? compared to massive traffic that is not your target audience. Try to analyze their behavior through Google Analytics for you to have an effective idea on how to attract the right audience for your site.

        A weebly site is an alternative way to have extension of your main site as a blog so its possible to gain traffic from it but its still depending on how you will build it especially on content post.

    Find OFW groups from the philippines and join as a member. Post every new events and link it from your website.

    Or you can relate your own group and invite your OFW friends and ask them to invite their friends also. Post new updates from your site here.

    Since it seems like you know your target market, I would try running some PPC campaigns thorugh Bing or Google Adwords to your site. I don't think you're going to have much luck with SEO if you're just starting to learn about it.

    You may create pages with content and promote your general pages, make them like landing pages. Make posts at special forums and then finally you will start gaining traffic, if your website is really nice and useful.

    It's more difficult to rank, sure. You should try going for a Wordpress or Blogger blog, or even a Tumblr instead though as Google seems to show more love to them.

Depending what type of traffic you want means that quality of traffic which comes from search engine or you want to traffic from social website like Facebook, Google plus , Twitter or other social website. It is possible if you want organic traffic than you have to SEO and if you want social traffic which becomes instant traffic than you have join and published your URL to social website.

    the hosting still is a free platform... still same strategy im using ... using facebook and twitter for my campaign... Im still studying SEO and how to use wordpress and using the advise you guys shared to me....
