Try SEO SpyGlass for a backlink audit. It collects the backlinks and allows adding any manually (from any other additional sources, as none will find ALL). It also allows checking backlinks` presence in real-time so you`d only analyze the currently existing ones. You can check lots of specific factors as well as the 'Penalty Risk' calculated by the program, but that`s just a reference point - no software can be human-like objective. It`s just a great helper to analyze the links in bulk and then pay attention to the ones with low quality metrics and revise them manually. Btw, SpyGlass allows generating a disavow file for Google in a few clicks, if needed.

First, start with your Google webmaster link tools, you may get an idea bout the most linked pages on your website, then, verify the linking sites, on the other side, there is a tool you can search for it on Google called Link Detox, I think it's a product from Link Research Tools, which is a company with trust. Personally, I used their tool a few months ago and it reveals links no other tools can find. The only disadvantage is their experience pricing, it's not suitable for beginners, it was built for SEO and markets maybe.

Also, use Majestic, you can create a free account and add your site, then download all your backlinks and the bad ones are the links with zero trust flow and citation, but, it's better to verify them manually. I hope this helped, Good Luck.

Yeah, you can pay for a tool that may or may not do the job OR you can use the tool you were born with - your brain.

Simply visit each of the links after downloading them all and ask yourself, "did I place this link myself or did the website decide they like my site/page and place it themselves?"

If your answer is, "I placed the link myself", it's almost certainly a worthless backlink (unless it is contained within a stellar and relevant guest post) but not necessarily "bad" in the sense that it will do you harm. It just won't do you any good.

If you did not place the link yourself, it may be a good one, provided it is on a good website - especially one that is relevant to yours.

Put another way, you can ask yourself the question "If this was a nofollow link that did not help my page rank, would I still want it?" If the answer is "yes" it is probably a good link because it is a link that will drive relevant traffic, if nothing else.

Ahref and Semrush can help you about that. They also have a free plan with limited using, however I think that's enough for free using.

Buying backlinks was a strategy website owners used to achieve returns in the short, but with today's search engine algorithms, you'd want to avoid these unnatural links. These unnatural link will only cause you to lower your sites quality, relevance, and position in the search engine result pages.
Good links distinguish from bad links based on the quality of the website they come from. Bad backlinks can be found easily - you just need to follow the link to the site and find out its content and whether the presence of the link there would ruin your credibility.

To check the quality of backlink sources, analyse the website through following steps:
    • Surf the website - Quickly browse the website to know whether the website belongs to your niche. Google only regards relevant links that come from relevant domains. If you have a backlink from an irrelevant website, you would end up with a bad backlink.
    • Check for penalty and if indexed in Google - Backlinks from penalized websites and from the ones that are not indexed in Google are bad backlinks. These backlinks can further penalize your website.
    • Assess domain authority - It is prudent to stay away from websites that have domain authority below 30. You can check the domain authority of a website by using Open Site Explorer by MOZ. All you need to do is type the website URL and MOZ does the work for you.
