Backlinks Issue with Social Media Sites

Hi all,
i've used blogger.com, wordpress.com and hubpages to build backlinks to my site.
When i check my stats on MS and Yahoo Site Explorer though i see no backlinks from them.

The articles i have on these sites (which were created over 3 weeks ago) have not been flagged and my accounts have not been deactivated, but google has not counted them as backlinks (yet).

I'm hoping this is the cause of traffic bug...

... especially because google has just counted the backlink from my ezine article which i set up a month ago.

However, i would like some reassurance, and possible some experienced knowledge on whether i'm right to assume that google stopped considering my site until i stopped using TB... and now they are once again starting to count my links.

Or have such sites as blogger, hubpages, wordpress begun a nofollow policy recently that i'm not aware of?

And finally, some advice on what to do now would be much appreciated.

thanks.

How did you tell Google these pages were there? Meaning: did you submit the pages you created to social bookmarking sites, RSS feed sites etc - did you lay a path to give the Googlebot plenty of ways to find them quickly and index them?

If not then you cold wait forever, there are MILLIONS of splogs out there and Google just does not send its bots that deep to find them all.

just out of interest mate, is bookmarking and rss feed submission enough to have google take notice of your pages?

are there other ways i should alert google besides these two, and pinging bookmarking sites of course?

i put them all into traffic bug as it was sold to me as the best for rss submission/bookmarking.
i'm going to get the rssbot and the bookmarking bot from icansoft.

manually, i linked to the ezine article on a few of the social profiles i have. i assume this is what got it picked up. i'll be doing more of this until i get the bot progs next week.
