Hello all!

I built a quick niche adsense site about three days ago. I am using the bluesense template.

This is one of my first adsense sites that I am experimenting with to see how it goes. I replaced all the default bluesense code to my own adsense publisher ID and have been patiently waiting ever since.

My ads are not showing up yet, but my site is not indexed yet either.

So, my question is: Does your site have to be indexed by google before your ads will show, or could there be another problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Your site doesn't need to be indexed to show adsense.

When I create a site and add the adsense code, the ads are there within minutes. If they aren't showing up for you after a few days, I'd say you have a content or keyword problem.

Google knows what ads to put on your site because it reads your tags, content and all that other fun stuff. If it can't figure out what your site is about, it will either give you blank spaces or PSAs instead of ads.

Do you have a privacy policy and everything else the TOS requires?

Yes I have all the necessary pages to be in compliance with the TOS.

  • It only has to be crawled by the Adsense bot which is different than the Google Bot obviously.

    And bluesense is junk.

Find a good looking template and use a plugin.

And Google will not pay much out until your site has some authority and respect. Meaning get some incoming links and real traffic. Then put up Adsense.

Build your site into something. People who think they can just throw up a 100 made for adsense sites and hope to scrape some traffic are sadly mistaken.

    It's a recipe for failure.

Thanks for your advice and help!

Adsense is not my primary monetization model and I have no intentions of throwing up 10,000 adsense sites in hopes of making $0.50 a day from each.

The only reason that I am using adsense is just to test out some different monetization models and use the one that converts best for the site.

I totally agree that the BlueSense template is hideous, but was highly recommended by some of the adsense experts here as far as CTR.

    Hi,
This is a wordpress site? Have you been into settings-privacy and made sure that the search engines can actually view it? I am not trying to be patronizing, but I have made the mistake myself.

Is it a .net, .com, or .org?

I have a .biz which I have had for two months - never been indexed. Loads of pinging and backlinks.........Google says no......what can I say?

However, I am getting my .net .com and .org indexed in less than a week.

    All the best,

    Ruth

Did you only change the publisher ID, or did you change the whole adsense code snippet? You're supposed to use the entire code that google gives you.

You asked if your site has to be indexed in Google before ads will display. The short answer to that is "No".
