Hi.

I notice a few of my ezine articles have been placed on other websites / blogs and there is no backlink to my site. Is there anything I can do?

Jim.

You can always contact the site owner. But in reality, I would just keep moving on with more productive things. Is your name still there as the author?

    Hey Jim
The only way that people are allowed to take any of the ezine articles is to leave the articles original author on the page. If not then you can contact the site owner using the Whois.net to find out the owners info and emailing them asking them to take it down as you are original author. Or ask them to put a link back to your site for there use of the article. Most people think they can get away with that kind of stuff because the internet is such a large source. Ezinearticles explains that you are the sole owner of the article and any legal action needed is to be done by you. So i would just contact them and either ask that it be removed or add a backlink to your site.

    Hope this helps

Yep, as others have said, you can contact the owner and tell them they are in violation of copyright laws and either need to give you proper credit for your work with a live link to your site or remove the article. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't. It might have been a mistake or maybe they don't know any better, but it's most likely someone just assuming they'll get away with it.

If they don't change it then it's probably not worth your time to worry about it. Just move on. But if you really don't want to give up then you can report them to their webhost, and maybe even Adsense or other affiliate programs if they have them in the article.
