.US sites versus .Com and .Net Sites

Warriors, have any of you ever had a ".us" site get a top ranking? I had one that did for a short while but never solid like .com or .net Sites. Any input would be appreciated. There are TONS of .US sites available, but I'm hesitant. Would love to hear your thoughts.

    You're probably going to get a lot of people come here and say avoid ANYTHING that isn't .com, .net or .org - unless you're using a ccTLD / country-specific domain for a country-specific website.

    However, most of these people won't have tested using any other TLDs for their sites out of the same fear that has caused you to hesitate using one yourself.

    Personally I've managed to rank (and keep stable) a .me and a .info domain, and I don't believe it really makes a much of a different, if any at all.

    If .us is the best available domain option for you for a particular site (because it's the only one available in exact-match form), then I'd just give it a try.

    But that's just me.

        Google considers all tld extensions equal. What matters for ranking is how you do marketing for the domain.

          Well, I'm looking for .US domains all the time as they are cheap and available most of the time...I think having a weightloss.us would be better than weightlosshq.com Content is what worth the most I think so too
