Hello warriors,

I have a question (surprise?)..

Anyway.. I own a website which I'm building backlinks for, because I wan't to reach the number 1 spot... So my website is:

keyword1keyword2.com

Which is fine. I'm ranking good and my position is getting better... My website went from position 20 to position 6 within 7 days. My website roughly have 200 backlinks now, but here comes my problem!

There is another website: keyword1-keyword2.com, and his keywords is the same as mine, but the problem is... He is NOT building links! But his website is ALWAYS following me when my position gain! When my website was number 20, his was 21.. When my website was 14, his was 15, and now when my site is number 6, his is number 7!

He is not doing anything! His website is old and ugly, his last post where made for like 8 weeks ago!

When I check his site for backlinks it returns 0.. Litterally! 0! No backlinks, no pagerank, no nothing, just the same name as mine but with a hyphen! This is really pissing me off! Seriously - because, it has nothing to do with me, and I don't wan't his site to be at spot number 2, when I reach spot number 1, because he didn't work for it - I DID!

It's like google think it's the same site, and it's like google counts MY backlinks as his to!

So... Have anyone tried this before?

That's really odd. Are you sure he has 0 backlinks to his site? It could be that his site is just getting a ranking boost because it is aged or it could be that he has a few old backlinks that are starting to become more powerful.

There could be a number of reasons why his site is coming up next to yours. Who knows?

      I'm positive!

Yahoo said and is saying 0 backlinks
Google said and is saying 0 backlinks

I have used a few other and it's a big fat 0 every single time!

Well, it's not a boost - at least I don't think so, because it's not like I'm reaching position 6, and then after a few days he reach position 7.. It's like INSTANTLY.. It's like they are glued together...

There's another way to look at this problem. Wi, you are justified for being p*ssed off. On the other hand, you may have stumbled upon a way of riding someone else's coattails. If the other website owner benefits from your work perhaps this shows that there is a way people can benefit from other people's work. One hyphen isn't a high cost. How would a website named goo-gle.com do? I dunno, maybe you've found a wrinkle that can be exploited. Do you think.....?
