How do you make money with social media?

I just watched a video that I got on Mike Filsaimes newsletter.

Just some guy selling a $97 course I guess, it did get me curious.
How you become successful with social media marketing, I assume that some of you might know.

From what I have found out smm is not something that is entirely new.

    Individual users who plan to use Facebook for professional networking, marketing, and making money online should also reconsider using their personal account. The entire page should be geared towards the type of marketing or business the user is engaged in. Inappropriate pictures and messages from college friends about how drunk they were on the weekend really hamper a professional's image.

Users aren't permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization, or use personal accounts to advertise or promote themselves professionally. If your profile was listed under a non-individual name, or was used primarily for professional promotion, this is probably why it was removed.

        I personally havent had much success with marketing with social media, i only use social media to get backlinks, with the exception of squidoo and those types of social media.

        Personally i would advise anybody that is new to internet marketing or hasnt made any money requardless of how long you have been trying, not to get involved in social media like facebook until you have gotten the basics correct.

        social media requires you know what you are doing and you must be able to back up your claims with proof, and results.

        if you havent acheived what you say you have or dont really know what your talking about then people will see right through you.

        Please hear what i say because your reputation and time will be wasted otherwise.

          That's a dang good post.
          Although facebook, twitter are nofollow. And squidoo is not really social, but great
          for backlinks.

          But the part I've bolded is dang good advice.

          They call them "social" for a reason.

    You make money with social media, the same way you do with any other form of traffic. Like google adwords, ezine advertising etc, social media platforms like facebook are simply a way of letting people know about your business. Like anything else, build a relationship of like & trust, offer them value & then sell to them. You can use facebook groups & facebook fan pages for this.
