I have a client that doesn't want a website built - but wants to use adwords to show people his business and where his biz is located.
I told him he needed a website. However, he said that he heard that you can advertise on Google for free. I ended up looking for such a thing - I did run across Google.com/places - wondering if that was what he was talking about. What about it guys? Can you use adwords to promote a business w/out a website?

If you were my client, I'd buy a domain, and redirect it to a FB page, the latter being free and a good idea anyway for a business these days.

    Best,
    Josh

you can not use adwords to redirect from a domain name to an fb page, you display URL and land URL must match.

Is the op referring to a business listing on google and as such nothing to do with adwords, adwords is a paid per click service not free.

@Tryinhere: The Dest & Display URL would match in this setup. You can redirect the visitor to where from that point. Now, the quality score may not be all that high, of course, which in that case, I'd create a simple WP lander w/ some basic content, links, privacy policy, contact page, etc.
